http://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980...-980s-8gb-vram/Take it as a huge grain of salt, but something doesn't sound right: QUOTE 980 / 970 4GB reference cards with 8GB coming at a later date with custom coolers. Can’t say any more but don’t expect a huge leap in performance over current single GPU stuff. Performance wise, my lips are sealed on how it compares to 780Ti, but of course 980 is quicker than 780 for sure! Hopefully this is not the case, since custom cooled 290X only gets released several weeks later after AMD releases the hot and noisy reference R9 290X.

Well, leaked benchmarks are out for the GTX970/980, as well as the mobile counterparts.... Take this as a huge grain of salt, since there's not much about the power figures, as well as thermal and acoustic performance. The source is rather dubious as well, since Videocardz isn't really known for accurate leaks. Hopefully nVidia prices those cards right, but knowing nVidia... http://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980...mbers-unveiled/Update: Tom's Hardware apparently reports that the scores are predicted, based on their leaked specifications. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/gtx-980-v...idia,27621.htmlThis post has been edited by chocobo7779: Sep 9 2014, 09:58 AM

QUOTE(udin901 @ Sep 20 2014, 03:00 PM) waaaa...i hope my P55-US3L mobo and i5 760k can handle gtx970!! Go buy one and overclock your CPU... BTW, I'm completely impressed by the GTX970 and the 980... It seems like AMD is going to be in trouble, considering those cards are cheaper than the R9 290/290X, with greater performance and lower power consumption to boot. I really want to see AMD to create a hugely successful architecture just like what they did to Cypress (aka the Radeon 5000 series). I wonder how AMD is going to respond to this situation... Huge price cuts maybe? AMD really needs to hit a home run with their future GPUs, otherwise there will be no or little competition in the GPU market... Now... I wonder whether should I upgrade to a GTX970 from my HD7950... This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Sep 20 2014, 04:22 PM

QUOTE(Unseen83 @ Sep 20 2014, 04:28 PM) AMD probably going to lower R9 290/290x price and beef up more on AMD Game Rewards... ...and possible 295X2?

http://wccftech.com/gtx-960-ti-benchmarks-specs-revealed/Leaked benchies for the GTX960 and the 960Ti... The benchmarks for the 960 looks very disappointing to say the least. It barely outperforms the older 760, and heck even a R9 280 would outperform them. The fastest 960 Ti is pretty good, though the pricing makes it not viable, since you can get the GTX970 if you are willing to spend more.... The GTX960Ti (1280SP) looks great, though the pricing could become a problem since it is dangerously close to a reference 970... Please take this as a huge grain of salt, since nothing is confirmed yet.

QUOTE(Minecrafter @ Jan 1 2015, 09:53 AM) The GTX960Ti second variant..performs close to the R9 290.. Well, like what you said taking it with a huge grain of salt. I don't think nVidia will cannibalize their 970s by making the 960s performing dangerously close to the 970.
