I think the highest range cards will be around that price. Zotac Amp! Extreme and MSI is selling 1499.

Ya, am also looking at Palit Jetstream. Been waiting for a review on this and also the Gainward Phantom version. sigh... no people interested to do review on them. >_<

Anyway, here's a list of reviews for 970 & 980
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviewdb/Graphi...NVIDIA/GTX-970/

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviewdb/Graphi...NVIDIA/GTX-980/

The only thing that's holding me back on that Gigabyte card is the length.
L=312mm, W=129mm, H=43mm

312mm... can't fit my CM690-II

Or you can try the Asus Strix version? The only red section is the eyes(center of the fan)... also come in a nice back plate and only around 280mm in length. Best is RM1399 only. biggrin.gif

found a nice comparison between the asus. msi, evga gtx 970 :

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/...tx-970-review/1

The performance seem kinda similar with the strix slightly lagging behind.

I think we won't feel any difference between them since mostly only a few fps. I think the factor for us would be price, design and warranty. smile.gif

You essentially know you're a lazy **** if you buy a shiny new graphics card at 10am and at 8am the next day still have absolutely no motivation to install it.

The only thing I can think of now is going to the Justsoy shop nearby, buying taufufa and yau char kwai but that SOB only buka kedai at 10am.
*
hahaha... come... my motivation is through the roof right now! Let me help you install it in my com. hehehe... biggrin.gif

Finally got my Asus 970 Strix today. Now I just fell like leaving office right away! hahaha... The card is a bloody beauty. Maybe perhaps it's because of my long long overdue update. My GTX460 DCU can finally rest now. happy.gif

Ic. So is an enhance version or downgrade version??

EDIT: just read one of the article it seems like this lite version of 970 is to focus on ppl who do not prefer to overclock.
*
Yup, it's most probably the LITE version

Actually the fan facing inside is better for exhausting hot air. The fan is sucking the hot air from the GPU and exhausting it out the rear.

Anyway, it's always better to keep a tidy cabling route. Then you should add some exhaust fan up top. Hot air raise up. So, adding a couple of fans there will help.

Anyone hv msi gtx 970 bending in their rig? First time encounter such problem.
*
QUOTE(marfccy @ Oct 21 2014, 03:02 PM)
well, its not the first time heavy cards sag inside rigs

try alleviate the sag by making a makeshift lift to hold the card in place properly?
*
Not sure is it because of MSI skipping on the back plate. So far my Strix 970 is holding nicely.

I think there's nothing much you can do with the sagging issue. I old card 460 was much smaller and lighter then current gen card and it too sag.

Here're 2 reviews on the Gainward card if you are interested in...

http://www.eteknix.com/gainward-phantom-ge...cs-card-review/
http://www.techspot.com/review/898-geforce...-sli-4k-gaming/

Considered it before I bought the Asus Strix variant. The design and the lack of back-plate is a put off for me.
