Been saying it several times now, 980 is overpriced. It's bound to drop to 780 prices (which is where it should be), that's if you're a price-performance ratio person. If you don't care, obviously get the 980, it's a great card.

The 980s all have coil whine too. Dude, coil whine will happen irregardless of what you buy. You either get a very annoying, unbearable coil whine or you get a card that has almost inaudible whine, it's pretty much lottery.

Cheapest 980 is the reference 980, RM2050 IINM. It's certainly not RM500-RM700 faster than the 970, price-performance wise.

Better make sure you have enough space (length wise) in your casing before jumping for the G1. Many users has already bought the G1 just to find out it doesn't fit in their case.
