TXAA can only be set on in-game right? can''t find any method to force it.
*
can be forced afaik, check around the settings

and not all games have TXAA built inside as part of the settings

usually FXAA, MSAA, SSAA

another thing - trying WD now and it seems after few minute <10min - The monitor went to 'Sleep mode' and i heard the gpu fan starting to spin louder = spin at higher rpm.
its juz occur. wondering its the game itself or you guys occur this kind of situation before.

basically, the display went black - nth - pc hang i suppose as i can't enable caps/num locks. only reset pc to solve the hang.
*
this never occur before for me

but monitor did like blink blink when starting up a game

but everything went fine afterwards

just went and test several games after updating new drivers

not bad, the driver seriously improved graphical perf alot

this is my results, sorry no screencaps, only words

Tomb Raider [Ultra settings, 1080p, shadow res normal (how do you change to higher shadow res?)]
min - 56FPS
max - 96FPS
avg - 73.2FPS

Hitman Absolution [1080p, Ultra settings, 4x MSAA]
min - 48.4FPS
max - 88.0FPS
avg - 57.9FPS

Batman Arkham Origins [Ultra settings, 1080p, TXAA High, Physx High]
min - 45FPS
max - 84FPS
avg - 62FPS

Bioshock Infinite [Ultra, 1080p]
min - 25.14FPS
max - 149.07FPS
avg - 88.94FPS

some results may vary in future as I had my Shadowplay on, so if CPU bottleneck then im not sure. last time in Batman AO and Tomb Raider, i was struggling to even reach 60FPS and the min and max range was extreme (40+FPS to 75FPS)

WTA :

Im planning to upgrade GPU from GTX550ti CU to any 700 series

at the moment current on budget around 5xx-6xx-ish keen able to get gtx750 TI OC and besides i see GTX760 just around RM1k still reconsidering .

My main point is do gtx750 TI OC enough for high/ultra settings with good framerate gaming ?

to all sifu's please advise , thanks in advance smile.gif
*
depending on games, low graphical games have no prob being maxed out by 750 Ti

but if you were to attempt to max out AAA games like BF4, Watch Dogs, ACIV and the sorts... youre in for a surprise mate

gtx 770 user here tongue.gif , anyone has a good suggestions for the graphics settings of Watch Dogs? The driving fps is really bad for me, most of the times dipping in the 20's. Not sure whether its poor optimization from the game itself or the gc.. But I was able to max out AC4 which is quite nice rclxms.gif
*
the driving stutter part was because of texture loading/streaming afaik. you cant load/stream the texture fast enough so it stutters too often

just lower shadow reso, Ambient Occlusion and AA settings

the rest should be fine on High

Any news on when Nvidia is going to release new series of GPU?
I mean the "next-generation"(GTX 800)...
*
highly doubt anytime soon

Titan Z was just announced to be back on launch schedule

Nvidia milking old chip as much as they could before sending 800 series

wo... time to get 1 but is zotac brand reliable ? and whats the diff between the normal gc vs TI vs AMP ? pls enlighten me sifuus ~
*
heres my story for my Zotac GTX780

day one - GPU DOA after purchase
day two - 1-1 exchange at distro's place biggrin.gif

working flawlessly until now

distro told me that Zotac is new brand in Msian market so they offering long warranty period 3+2 years

first 3 years 1-1 exchange too rclxm9.gif

as for diff between normal, Ti and AMP! edition
this is Zotac GTX780 normal

this is Zotac GTX780 Ti

and this is Zotac GTX780 AMP!
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

GTX780 is inferior to the Ti version. AMP! version is slightly faster GTX780 (higher clocked)

AMP! edition in Zotac means faster clocked version of the card model

GTX780 Ti, Ti stands for Titanium means its a different model already

forgive me if my explanation is messy, im quite lazy atm blush.gif

yup this one i guess http://www.gainward.com/main/product/vga/p...4efed06dc6a.jpg

im using msi gtx 660 twin froz with fsp hexa 500w no problem so far

is fsp hexa 500w good enough? for this one cause the seller im getting it from suggest  FSP RAIDER 550W 80Plus Silver which is like rm80-60 difference.. This is my friend pc helping him to build one..
*
500W is the recommended PSU for GTX660 based on Geforce main site

the GPU alone eats 150-175W only as well. should be sufficient

Any recommendation if I am going to change from HD4870 for a Nvidia?

Recently the random display driver BSOD crash force restart crap is getting annoying, sometimes even force restart also can fail where my rig there will stuck at the BIOS "beep". Usually it should be only a short "beep" (I guess you all know what I am saying right?), but when it got stuck it just "beep" very long. I get my rig cleaned thoroughly then it seems to alleviate the problem a bit, but after sometime it happens again sad.gif

I only do moderate gaming nowadays (CS:GO, CNC3 etc), the rest just watching movie. I heard 750Ti is quite good for the price, just don't expect to max out on those real graphic intensive games (which I don't play). But at the same time I am looking at 660 and 760Ti, but the price is far different.
*
ill assume your budget is around RM800 perhaps? since youre looking at the cards above

GTX760 at RM799 would be your best bet, but GTX750 Ti and GTX660 seems more budget friendly considering the type of games you play hmm.gif

Precisely yes, around RM500-RM800.

Out of the above, the 760Ti is the most powerful yes? Followed by 660 and 750Ti. (Well all I know they would outperform my old 4870 that is).

Running 1080P movies should be far better than my current 4870 correct?
*
well, as for 760 Ti, i believe its only available for OEMs, not us. but yes its the most powerful among the ones you mentioned

as for running 1080p movies, it mostly depends on the media player and how well it uses your GPU to render afaik

GPU doesnt do much except about 50/50

Using K-Lite with Media Player Classic. Last time some folks told me to use ATI codecs but in the end it is more than disaster for me and I disabled the ATI codecs. Anyway, my friends still trying to ask me to go for R9 270x.

Thanks for the input. Much appreciated.

im using MPC-HC with KCP, so far ive yet to see any massive improvements on quality in video playing

everything have been a smooth playback so far

to each of their own i guess, people usually based on their own preference

With the ATI codecs on last time, WMV file playback is problematic, especially when I trying to skip using the seek bar, it can take up to >10 secs for the video to be played at that spot.

Everything else is fine.

Anyway, you are using 780  sweat.gif .... Can't afford that yet.
*
nah, people with GTX750 Ti on same codec pack as mine also reported smooth playback

its all about the tweaking wink.gif

going back to 256bit? hmm.gif feels stupid, considering most 780 and above are already >384 bit

also, i highly doubt Maxwell provided huge improvement in performance.. only lower power consumption

should be like how GTX750 Ti is
