What's the best value GTX 970 in the market right now? I'm upgrading from a Gigabyte GTX 770, mainly playing BF4 (which struggles at 4K resolution).

Best value for money GTX 970 would be Gainward GTX 970 at RM1099, based on the reference box cooler typically found on its older GTX 760 brethren.

Are you going to SLI it? If not, I doubt a single GTX970 can even game "proper" in 4K res. Heck, I think a single GTX980 can't even do it.

* anyway, if wanna game at 4K, I think Radeon cards does them better.

Nope im not gonna sli it.

Don't worry about whether it's fast enough for me. All that is important is that i get a speed increase over my gtx770.

I don't run bf4 at ultra settings like the benchmarks do. I play mostly multiplayer so eye candy gets disabled anyway for a competitive edge.

Oh you're gonna love it.

I'm using the GTX 970, you'll not only see speed boost compared to the GTX 770 but you'll have a much cooler (as in temperature) gaming computer.

Best Value = Gainward Ref model, RM 1099.

Highest priced being ASUS Strix for RM 1,499 for that awesome cooler but the price gap is too huge.

By the way, I think single 970 should be able 2 run in 4k at the lowest possible range eye candy ever.

Best value prize should go to Gainward Phantom 970 RM1199. There are complaints about the blower model having coil noise problems. I don't want to argue, but this is my IMHO.

4K might be too much, if im getting the 970, probably gaming at 1440p. Too bad with 1080p monitor now. zzz

Hmm... since DSR was introduced into the drivers, I have been trying some of my current games to use 4k resolution; thus far only "F1 2014" (benchmark at 1080p: average 101fps, at 4k: average 40fps) and "Diablo III" the smoothest.

Recently tried 4k on "CoD: AW", it almost does it, but there is a constant 'loading'; possibly due to my 680's 2G memory buffer limitation, it is however smooth sailing at 1080p.

Here's hoping that the upcoming 970/980 with higher VRAM would be (finally) be a worthwhile upgrade to my 680 2G.

At 1920x1080 FXAA, it runs exceptionally well, can say no major hitches or slowdowns of any kind. "Shader Preload" Turned On and "Shader Preload During Cinematics" Turned Off, the rest turned maximum / Turned on. Load time about average 2 minutes (4k resolution, haven't check time for 1080p). Memory usage close to 5.0Gb RAM during 4k gaming My system is i7-870 4Ghz, 8Gb mem, Palit Jetstrm 680 2G.

Crashes? Hmm... not really. I don't get that not enough memory issue as well. Perhaps you need to update graphics driver (344.60).
