Hello to all the sifu in lyn, yesterday I went to lowyat plaza to hunt for part price and got a lot of pricing brochure, after a long day of consideration and survey I have come down to a list of things I need to buy but unsure if it works well or what would be the difference, hope sifu here can explain a little. I have also check in hardware section and review section but can't really find any information to compare or explain if this few things would suit me or not. I will skip my current com spec since I'm almost like buying the whole set of rig new except for the graphic card.

Here is the list of what I have so far...

-Intel core i7 - 4770k 3.5GHz (8MB) 4/8 cores

-Crosair 2x4 = 8GB 1866MHz

-Asus Z87 -M PLUS ..... (Any sifu can explain what is the difference between M PLUS VS against the other model which is just Asus Z87 PLUS ?? What does M stands for? Also some state that this model already have graphic card within and putting an external graphic card is not necessary ... is it true?)

-120GB Seagate SSD (Suspected it might be for laptop and not PC because there is a (2.5') written there as well. Looking to buy one and use it as main to take advantage of the speed)

-Cooler Master Storm Scout 2 BLK ( Not sure if everything will fit or not)

-Sliverstone Strider 700W

I'm not certain if all the parts I have mention above will fit together perfectly or not. Currently I do not include graphic card as I have a spare ASUS GTX 560 DirectCU II TOP graphic card for my new rig if it needs to be. My budget is around RM3k - RM3.5k ... though I prefer making one under RM3k.

It's been a decade since I have look into computer parts so I totally have no idea what would be best for my new rig, my last PC is using dual core.

I'm not a overclock fan, but won't mind of have overclock capabilities. I'm not sure if I have anything else missing, monitor, mouse and keyboard already covered.

What I want my new com to be able to do:

1) Run graphic base software with no lag, photoshop, illustrator, 3dx max, maya, flash video editor software. (My working com load most of the software slow, rendering also slow)

2) Able to open multiple tabs most of the time, including tab switch to other program as well as streaming video live using something like twitch or teamviewer. (Current com lag if I open more then 10 tabs I have a habit of multitasking with a number of tabs and application on as I look for different resource or reference simultaneously.)

3) Able to play games at high settings ( Games like total war, BF3 and most of the new games that is in the market)

4) At least 5 hardrive storage space as my previous com store about 4 piece and I plan to shift to the new com

I hope sifu here can enlighten me with all the function and feature available and what are my option or suggestion that would lead me with a happy rig. Any link to compare would be nice as well.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Bro, will try to answer your question base on my understanding/knowledge. biggrin.gif

-Asus Z87 -M PLUS ..... (Any sifu can explain what is the difference between M PLUS VS against the other model which is just Asus Z87 PLUS ?? What does M stands for? Also some state that this model already have graphic card within and putting an external graphic card is not necessary ... is it true?) - if not mistaken M stands for MATX board which is smaller than the standard one.

-120GB Seagate SSD (Suspected it might be for laptop and not PC because there is a (2.5') written there as well. Looking to buy one and use it as main to take advantage of the speed) - -2.5" drives can be used on a normal desktop. some case comes up with the adapter so you can mount is like a normal 3.5" drive

- for the case - -it can fit all the compinents you need and i this one can handle multiple drives, if not mistaken, morethan 5 drives.(im so lazy to google to check the total drive. tongue.gif)

hope i helped you in some ways. happy building. icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif
