Hey guys, just curious...if I make a western character (elf/nuian), will I be able to travel freely on the east continent? Will I be PK'ed freely?
I read abit on western vs eastern continent...and from what I read, I think eastern continent has much more interesting landscape. But...I really prefer the elf/nuian race...and I think exploration is one of the most, if not the top most, attraction of ArcheAge to me. Anyway to avoid being PK'ed while exploring in east continent as a westerner? |

QUOTE(imperia70 @ Sep 11 2014, 09:45 PM) Haven't tried that lol. Aww...sad...okay...either this, or I'll have to create 2 characters then Both sides have safe zones that are safe. Red names can come over and run around in your safe zones, but they can't attack unless you attack them first & vice-versa. Its possible to xplore if they don't attack you first but you can't actually tell them that you are on a sight-seeing tour as our chat bubble will appear garbled to them If you plan on going over to the other continent, be prepared for pvp or use 'Shadowplay'?? Thanks. Anyone knows any good guide that I should definitely read before launch date? |

Gosh it's crazy on Kyrios, over 1.5k queue, 1 hour 30mins wait time.
Tried to watch some anime while watching, but found that bt.ktxp.com can no longer be accessed. Anyone can get on this website? |

Why the heck is everyone going East Continent?
I like the look of the Elf so I created my char on West Anything special/advantageous about East Continent? Please don't tell me it's because of those Firran's cat (tiger?) ear........the character model isn't even anywhere near cute...plus there's no fluffy paw, but only fingered claws! And don't get me started on Harani's char model... |

QUOTE(boarulez @ Sep 16 2014, 10:37 AM) "Disaster" is a kind word.A lot of people are calling it a big scam and worst headstart ever, just read the forums It's almost the same situation back when FFXIV is launched. Difference: FFXIV stopped digital sales immediately & increased server. Trion? LoL. This says a lot about the kind of publisher you are dealing with. So yea, worst headstart/launch ever, I gotta agree, even FFXIV pales in comparison. I really like the game, the only complains I have: 1) Long-queue, over 2k sometimes, over 1 hour waiting. 2) Occasionally dc while in-queue or in-game, which puts me back into the long queue...it's a vicious cycle and very time-wasting. If your playing-session is less than 2 hour, but if you need to go through the login process, then just take my advice: don't waste your time, go do other stuff. So, advice to everyone: try not to logout once you log in...seriously. And, uhm...brace yourself for actual F2P launch...I think I may not even want to try login, such a huge waste of time. I know saying this will hurt myself (making the queue longer), but I still wanna say this:
ArcheAge is much more group-orientated than your common themepark MMO. It's almost like UO/Shadowbane/DAoC...it's impossible to "truly play" this game or even get far, unless you group-up and interact with other. In such a game, the community you interact/group with, directly affects your in-game well-doing and experience. Another few weeks down the road, the queue will surely disappear. Players who come playing ArcheAge without the correct attitude/expectation, some will adapt, but majority will just leave... I can even say that, ArcheAge is designed to be P2P only, the F2P is just a "trial-in-disguise". Land is not a requirement to enjoy the game, but it will enhance your enjoyment immensely. The real problem is at the Labor Point system. See, land is not required INDIVIDUALLY to enjoy the game, because even if you can't grab a land for yourself, you still can visit/use/share properties with your guild/"family". It's part of the game design, you can configure land/farm permissions. But without Patron status, not only you don't get queue priority, you will be very short on Labor Point, which harshly prevents you from contributing/co-operating in your community activity, such as ship-building/house-building/crafting/etc. FYI, even when you died and revived, it will cost labor point to reclaim lost EXP! Labor Point is needed for all major operations in game, I don't see how F2P players can get away with it. So...feel free to try out this game by playing F2P, learn the ropes, get a feel...but you will understand quite fast, that what I say is true Although I started my character at the wrong side (I chose West, but I'll start a character at the east soon), I am still pretty sure that, even with the long-queue, Kyrios is the right choice in the long-run, due to the proximity of population to us. Because population across all servers will surely drop and stabilize...the queue will either be gone, or become negligible, or solved by developers in the long run (by adding more server, increase max player cap, or whatever). So, you better join a server which has many players of close-proximity in geography or culture in the beginning, otherwise few months down the road there would be too few left for you to enjoy this game with If nothing else, just ask yourself this: Would you prefer a server where many who play with you have approximately the same lag? Or prefer to play in a server where everyone else is <100ms, but you alone has >200ms? This post has been edited by unknowngst: Sep 17 2014, 03:32 PM |

My ping to Kyrios is about 200-250ms, using Unifi 5Mbps.
So far no problem PvE-ing at all, even able to interrupt spells as monsters are casting. But haven't try any PvP, so not sure how that will be. I am taking it slowly |

Server queue resided, even for Kyrios, yesterday night no queue at all
Some questions: 1) I have 2 characters in same account, 1 in east, 1 in west. Is there anyway to transfer item between them? 2) Where I can get the best mount? Cash shop? If so, I want to buy it early, since I have 7.5k credits sitting there doing nothing, and mount takes time to level up... 3) Where I can get the best battle pet? Cash shop too? 4) Anything really worth buying from Cash shop other than inventory expansion slot? 5) What are you guys buying from Cash shop now? Not interested in appearance items, only utility items. |

Just curious guys, how's the land-stuation in your server right now?
I am in Kyrios, and it's crazy to say the least...insta-land-grab-hacks, sky-rocketting land price, trade-hack, teleporters, AH auto-snipers...it's impossible to get any 16x16 and above unless I start cheating too. If you go by the honest way, it'll be like this: I was at 50g about 2 weeks ago (I am working adult, not much time to play unless weekends), and the land prices for 16x16 is about 200g. So I targeted to make that 200g in another 2 weeks or so. But, by the time I am about 200g this weekend, the asking-price for 16x16 is already 600g and above!!! There are just too many hack/exploit that ruins the economy... So now I am just looking for a server where new comer will have chance to grab 16x16 or above land for some farming activity...all I want is maybe two 16x16 large farm, and 1 thatched farm house for all my farming-love. Please tell me, if you think I can have such a chance at your server...and I'll jump right in. |

QUOTE(pyre @ Oct 20 2014, 03:52 PM) the problem is there on other servers. ours is running around 350 - 400g range now for a 16x16 but with the actual farm left with whatever crops or animal on it traded over. helped my friend get one the other day. there's still alot of trade of plots in conflict lands so it's still possible to get if you know what you're doing. Makes me wish to move to the server with lowest population...then again that's one of the reason our guild migrated out from Kyrios, too many players trying to login at the same timezone (especially over the weekends, I see Kyrios is the only one with 'queue' while other NA servers are 'high') and very poor player behavior. I can't imagine farming for Hasla tokens on Kyrios. We had no regrets moving. So, which server has good land situation where new player will have chance to grab a 16x16 or above? Please say it here, I'll jump straight in. |

Ok then, anyone from the new servers? Ezi/Lucius/Calleil?
How's the land situation there? I don't mind starting all over as long as I can get enough farm space to do breading/beehives. This post has been edited by unknowngst: Oct 21 2014, 07:54 AM |
