Random CTD are normal for BF2 already
nobody have ever figured out the cause

but for me CTD's have never been a problem

here are a few tips
when the map is loaded i never press the join button anymore,instead press esc
make sure your computer has no firewall enabled
make sure ur pc is spyware and malware clean
make sure no other internet using application is being used when running BF2

my current pc specs are AMD Athlon64 3000+ running at 30c (full load)
2gb RAM (512x4) all crosshair
x1600 turbo iceq with radeon omega drivers

i also noticed that bf2 will CTD when running one of the mods
i think its because of that alternate ranking that got disabled with 1.3

Not Only CTD but creash the whole pc ! The sound is looping during the crash.BTW I Prime95 my Prosesser till 8 hours and no error.
