imo, training endurance using the good old way would do the trick.run slowly for one hour.Increase the distance from week to week or month to month.About short burst of power, you could try to include weight training like squat and stiff leg deadlift. And don't forget to train the calves of yours. Finally, research more.

good luck in your training:)

What is your target distance for 1 hour of continues running?
In my opinion, the best is to run uphill combination with speedwork.

how far do you intend to run in the 1 hour?

for bursts of speed you need muscle strength, squats and leg curls.

if you're going to run 6 miles in an hour you should train to be able to run for 8-9miles in 1 and a half hours, build up your stamina first, then work on speeding up.

what are you training for? marathon?

not really marathon, but i have to keep running around like in a football game but i think i could use the same type of training as marathon runners. Yeah uphills would be convenient for me, my place has alot of uphills.
How many times do i train a week and what shoes that are recommended (last long and comfortable), I don't mind the price but not too overboard for a pair of shoes sweat.gif

100m - Fastest speed, 200m - Sprint Mode, 400m - Slow jog.
Repeat the above for 5 sets.

Weightlifting for your lower body. Suggest you to go to gym.

For what purpose ? Football ? If it is football, you'll need more than this.

Not as intensive as football, can sub in and sub out most of the time but need to run away from markers and keep track on them too...run run and run
