saw Today's Deal on Lazada, Note 3 RM1799.. quite attractive price

So, I bought this for my wife yesterday, as surprise, i thought she would love it.. But she said it's too complicated and big for her daily usage.. She said she just want a slim, simple and beautifully design Android phone,with adequate size..something like my XZU but much smaller.. (Huawei Ascend P6 come into my mind when she said that) So now she is sulky at me for buying her probably one of the best, expensive and most wanted phone nowadays.. (she is an iPhone user who want a bigger screen phone, u know what I mean)

So, I guess I need to absorb the damage by owning this note 3 myself..

anyone here fancy for rose gold white color Note 3? i feel i don't like this color la.. i guess black is better for me.. if anyone interested, can PM me.. the item is still less than a day old now.

In my opinion, the reason u would go for Note 3 is the S-pen features which is not available in any other smartphone, none, eventho some brands try to incorporate pen functions but they are a mess.. Also I would say the camera is quite nice as well.. In terms of aesthetic design, I think Sony is better, especially the top Z series.. I've tested Z1, is feels so solid, if not of some let down on it spec, I would buy it.. But I imagine Z2 is the real thing, soon we will see.. If u ask me what phone I wish, I wish Sony phone have S-pen.. Perfect..

Yup would be nice to have a removable battery, but that will decrease the overall solid feel.. You can't have both.. The only way to go is non removable battery but much larger capacit.. What u mean by highlight text? U mean using the s pen? Simply put, the pen makes productivity works easier..

Ya lo, but my XZU was already put on sale even before, coz im thinking to try china branded phone.. a lot new model seems interesting and quite cheap..but now have to absorb this Note 3 unit,how to buy another phone le..

haha ya have Note 3 now.. still having XZU too.. my wife refused this Note 3, what to do.. better play with it, because if resell of course will lose money still..

my Note 3 seems a bit slow, not that snappy as i expected.. but i suspect something with the apps and backup i transferred from XZU using Helium.. will re-setup this weekend and see how.. as of now, my XZU is snappier than this Note 3

Just saw Note 3 Neo is already on sale.. i totally forgot that got a lower end note 3 version coming.. when does it start hit our local market? Is it just recently? Price tag is much cheaper. I should have bought that one when im intended to buy this for my wifu.. anybody tried Note 3 Neo already? Any comment?

i got this super noob question, if i flash stock firmware (downloaded from SAMMOBILE) via ODIN, will it trigger the binary counter or knox something?

i was upgrading firmware NC2 via Kies on my Mac, it took so long so i thought to let it ran itself so i went off to bed just now, but out of my curiosity, i go check when i woke up, to find my macbook died coz battery drained, then the error message is on the screen! now Kies wont detect it, oh well, i think ODIN is the only way to go.. but my intention was to keep the device at stock condition, not i'm not sure to proceed with odin or send to SC tmrw. lol..

any advice will be much appreciated

As u can see above, my device got problem during firmware upgrade, now it's not booting.. Can u help to answer my question above?


Edit: solved.. flashed via Odin. Seems that it doesnt triggered binary count. And all data still intact

doesn't ROM need to be region specific? well unless unlocked bootloader and rooted, maybe can be bypass.. but can't be like official malaysian unit..

just a thought.. well i left flashing rom arena for more than a year already.. last night only first time flash back rom due to my unit was soft brick during firmware upgrade.. lol.. last time i remember, stock ROM and kernel are region specific, as it detects IMEI or SN something, so if u force flash ROM from other region you migh get a software brick phone as a result.. i'm not talking about custom rom and kernel and unlocked bootloader phones.. but stock phones.. i might be wrong, coz my memory was from early 2013.. lol

Dunno why should I be glad.. First, it's my money, if I want to buy Note 3, I would do once it released months back.. And I already have the one of the top smartphone nowadays, XZU.. Lol.. Can read my personal opinion between the 2 device in XZU thread.. Anyway, the device is on hands already, what to do. rock on

Mine too, most of time is less one bar than my XZU..

What is "index service"? Seems like it draining battery.. How to disable this?

i flashed mine, yesterday NC2 firmware downloaded from Sammobile, flashed via PC Odin, seems that it does not triggered binary counter/ knox.. but my unit is stock condition, just out of box, but that time tried to update softwares it went soft brick, so i got no choice but to flash firmware manually.

yes from sammobile website, size more than 1gb, i think it was 1.3gb too..

use my home unifi, took sometime also, but not that too long lah
