I've this problem where when I clicked on 'Members' on top to search for specific LYN members, I got this error:

The error returned was:
Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available.

I already logged in. Tried to logoff and login oso receive same problem.

Can help on this?

We have temporarily disabled the feature as it is being abused. I'm looking how we can re-enable it safely.

mind explain how does this function been abused?

I'm guessing stalking and harassment.

hmm..i dont think stalking means anything in the internet..is the forumer responsibility to aware wat they post (or expose)

harassment wise,well..theres always a report button right

I noticed that this function was only disabled recently after the recent case on a particular member whose name I shall not mention. Thought the case has been considered as settled and closed.

Possible to enable it? Its easier for us to search seller/buyer via this.

Agree. I used this to find a forumer's name whom uses a digi number so each time I want to find his name I got to search, though I could always use a notepad to save his name.

Actually, this feature is useful for me to track scammers whenever they made new accounts.

Just a simple suggestion, perhaps the function can be re-enabled back for "Senior Member" and above? since we are regular members and should not abuse the function.

I assume that majority of the abuse are from newly or sub par accounts.

Please enable for "Senior Member" and above AND also for forum members who have been in this forum for more than eight years.

Some old members (like me) rarely post 'coz prefer to read for info of buy/sell items, so of course I never reach "Senior Member", but the search function is beneficial for searching sellers and buyers for trading.

It has been disabled for so many months? It makes it very hard to search for a seller.

i click on my own nick -> find member post but it return : " Sorry, the board administrator has enabled search flood control. Please wait at least 1 seconds before trying again. "

Improvement to the idea, safe traders/mod staff admin/trade enforcer can search for members. Senior member and junior member are disallowed to search.


For senior and junior to search for sellers, you can't. Just check out WTS WTB threads. Thread address can be directed to them instead of searching for XXX32134, XXX32134a, XXX32134xx person seller.


Manual search can be done if you know the exact username.

I do a lot of tradings but I don't have a Safe Trader tag, and am a safe trader/trusted, so that is totally unfair. So why put me in the category that I am a 'untrusted' user?

What if we put privacy setting for users. At least they can choose whether their profile is searchable or not.

hope this feature is re-enable again, because is very hard to search for buyer/seller now.. (didnt realize till i start wanting to find a specific person to buy/sell few days ago and was like whut.. what.. and now i go other places due to lazy find without search function)

improvement to idea... if senior member more than 8 years with no dispute ever made on the person should be allowed the search function....

Why 8 years? Why not round it up to 10?
