So a couple of days ago I contacted Maybank officer who took care of my application around 2 weeks ago and it turned out that she might not have processed it yet, because my passport number still isn't in their system. blink.gif

I just re-applied this morning, asking them to make my application somewhat prioritized since I have waited for 2 weeks and my passport number isn't in their system already. yawn.gif

Just got called by Maybank, they say that my application for Maybankard 2 Platinum is approved. BUT, I need to pledge RM8,000 fixed deposit before they can process it further. They say that if my salary is credited to Maybank account (which I still don't have), they might be more lenient of the FD requirement. Quite unfortunate since that may not be possible. sweat.gif

any reason for such requirement? your annual salary is meeting the criteria?

just curious is your annual income lesser than the requirement?

No, my annual income definitely meets the requirement, by twice even. Probably it's because I'm a foreigner and that this is my first credit card. Ah well, I just need to save more then. rolleyes.gif

then 8k of FD should not be a problem to you then.

For now it is, because I just started work like 6 months ago and I just dislike the thought of having RM8,000 "freezed" in a bank and I can't use it. Probably I'll just wait a couple of months to save enough so that I'm won't bothered by a "loss" of liquid money that much. nod.gif
