guys
wanna confirm few thing on CC

1. My total balance is RM1.7k and my minimum balance is RM39 due date on 17th April 2014. I received my cashback total of RM45 on 1st April 2014. Is the cashback can be considered as my minimum payment?

2. If we pay credit card every month with minimum payment, what happen to our CCRIS record? does it affected?

FYI, this is something that cross in my mind, just want to know for the sake of knowledge. I know paying minimum is a bad habit.

Yes to question 1. I would say yes to question 2 too, but expert please confirm.

thanks for the comments smile.gif
hope it is true biggrin.gif

(1)I am working at bank. For question 2, if every month you pay only minimum payment, (2)your CCRIS will still appear as 0, which mean you paid on time, apperantly just like full payment. However, if you continue paying only minimum, your outstanding amount will increase in huge amount due to interest charges, which will affect your credit card usage amount and (3)affect you when you apply for loan. Secondly, by making pay minimum as a habit, you (4)may end up some of the month paying late. Most importantly, if you take it as habits for more than one year. The banks have the right to put you under CCRIS special attention account, which will definitely affect you when you apply for car loan or housing loan in the future. If you are under CCRIS  special attention account, most likely you loan application will be rejected. Take note that every single bank have their own system to calculate the credit scoring of their customer for loan approval purpose, paying only minimum in the long run will definitely affect your credit scoring!

thanks for your feedback, but i need to confirm the information that i get, which means i need to verify my source of information. would u mind to clarify those in red?

a. u r working at which bank?
b. I understood your point (2) but why it affect point (3)?
c. If minimum payment is considered as on time payment, how did it turn out become late payment as in your point (4)?

a) I worked at ocbc, alliance bank and rhb bank.currently at RHB bank.
b) point 3 is when your credit card card usage is high with transactions and charges for example. There is a risk for the bank to consider cause you may end up not paying the loan.
c) yes, minimum payment is consider as on time payment. But what I mean here is most likely you might turn out to become late due to the habit. I am working at credit card centre when I still at alliance bank last time. That is based on statics outcome of customer payment pattern.

Last but not least, paying minimum will causes your CCRIS record worse as remark in the special attention account if you only pay minimum for more than one year. Why? That is for the bank risk analysis purpose to mesuare the risk of the customer chances to not paying loan on time. Secondly, your credit scoring will be affected. For example, In RHB bank, we measure customer credit ranking from Ranking 1 to 7. 1 mean best, 7 mean worst. If you are ranked at 6 or 7, your loan or credit card application will be rejected within one day. That is why some people keep on rejecting for application with bank.

Ok noted nod.gif
so if a cc user pay full amount most of the time and minimum payment once every 3 years, he/she shall have a clean record right?

Changing the card in actual is like cancel your current card and apply for a new card. They are doing this to make your life "harder" it seems, but this si to protect you against potential fraud.
Don't do direct debit and pay on weekends. Might be tedious but this is to ensure you get that 5% CB icon_rolleyes.gif

except for Celcom because u can get 5% discount of total bill charged when u subscribe for auto-payment with Amex CC.
u still get the same amount of cashback, without affecting your cashback limit biggrin.gif

guys
i just want to confirm something
if we pay minimum amount every month, when Maybank will impose the interest?
is it every end of month or end of year?
suppose it should be every end of month rite?

because in my case, I had paid FULL statement amount every month since the first time i use credit card except recent past 3 months I only paid minimum amount.
but in the online statement, there is no single cent or RM of interest?

Strange.... good luck to you. Maybe Maybank tag your CC to 0% Interest instead of 8.88%

Try checking your statement copy rather than M2U. If not mistaken, interest is not shown in M2U but only in hardcopy statement (or downloaded softcopy).

Just saw you mention online statement: if so then not sure.

QUOTE(maskedchan @ May 30 2014, 11:39 AM)
usually you will see in every month statement..
it will appear as INTEREST CHARGE on statement but not on m2u..
i do not have online statement so i dont know...

maybe as ronnie say, it already convert to 0% installment plan tongue.gif

Hohohoho biggrin.gif
thank god i am lucky tongue.gif

Read the T&C @ http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/mbbGSale180614_tnc.pdf

1. we register via sms
Yup, but you need register for each different category. For example, if you're interested in A2 and B1, then you need to send in 2 sms, one for A2 and another for B1
2. we need to spend some amount for any purchase via maybankard (RM100-RM1000)
Min RM100 for A-contest or Min 500 for B-contest between 19 June till 30 September 2014
3. we get qualifying entries based on amount spend
If your total spending between 19 June till 30 September 2014 is RM5123.27 then for A2 you got RM5123.27 / RM100 = 51 entries, and for B1 you got RM5123.27 / RM500 = 10 entries
4. we able to purchase the SALE item with the promo price
If and only if you're selected

yes i already read the pdf file before and that is why i am asking.
