Just got called by Maybank, they say that my application for Maybankard 2 Platinum is approved. BUT, I need to pledge RM8,000 fixed deposit before they can process it further. They say that if my salary is credited to Maybank account (which I still don't have), they might be more lenient of the FD requirement. Quite unfortunate since that may not be possible. sweat.gif

any reason for such requirement? your annual salary is meeting the criteria?

No, my annual income definitely meets the requirement, by twice even. Probably it's because I'm a foreigner and that this is my first credit card. Ah well, I just need to save more then. rolleyes.gif

then 8k of FD should not be a problem to you then.

Not bad!

Pay 2 months of Unifi bill (vip5 @ RM150) then automatically qualified. Furthermore will get about RM15 cash back from it as well.

Those with high tnb bill oso good already.
*
please read the T&C.

Based on the Qualifying Entries earned, two thousand (2,000) Eligible Cardmembers will be shortlisted by Maybank’s randomizer programme as winners of the Cash Back (“Winners”).

In short, you still need luck.

hmmm from the t&c stated:
that means 1 entry for every RM300 (cumulative)? if within the campaign period i've spent RM900+, i will get 3 entries?  sweat.gif

also i think as long as transaction made in M2U to pay utility bills/assessment fees, it's already qualified.

lemme call up Maybank for info biggrin.gif

*updates from Maybank:

1) All payees under Utilities and Assessment category in M2U-Bill Payment will be qualified.
2) Cumulative of RM300 will qualify for 1 entry. Multiple of RM300 will be counted as n-th entry, e.g. RM600 will get 2 entries, RM900 will get 3 entries, and so on.
3) No restriction on transaction count, e.g. you can pay your Unifi or TNB bills multiple times. As long as total qualified amount meets the RM300/entry criteria, you'll get 1 entry.

seems ok though  thumbup.gif

thanks for the additional info!

Hi Bro and sister,
Just wanna to confirm. I understand that the cash back period is based on calendar month from 1st until 30th of the month. I have used up my RM50 cash back portion for May by spending more than 1000 this month. But, I just swipe my card today 31 May with RM200. If today transaction posted on 1 June, will it consider as June cash back portion or May due to transaction date?

I will update tmr as I only max my rebate quota yday.

quite surprised some of u r so confident to say it will be under June transaction.

this has been discussed few pages back. it depends on how fast the merchant post the transaction. and of coz it's always risky to spend on the very last day since of the merchant is late in posting the transaction you'll miss the previous months rebate.

will update tmr.

he will not get the cashback as his quota has been used.

I believe he knows the has already maxed out his rebate earlier. The question I assume is for future reference in case the 31st occurs on weekend again.

If the quota is not maxed out, transaction in May and posted in June, the cash back will eat up June's quota. This has been tested before. There is a table by Ronnie at 1st page.
*
just to highlight what was pointed out earlier, transaction 31st may, posting 1st june, rebate to be credited under june rebate quota.

As said, the photo tell the thousand stories.
Transaction done on 31st of May while it never show on the 1st of June till 23:59 just before I sleep. But show on 2nd.
And the CB by MBB are May's transaction will be bank in on the same month as 1st month I hit rm1000 on weekend and I got the CB on that month also. Every merchant shall do a settlement from their CC machine so most of the time it will be posted on the same day.
And from the photo also you can see all the transaction date are same as posting date. I never encounter different date so far on MBB cards unlike HLB can drag up to 9 days.
And as confirmed by the officer, the CB are calculated based on transaction date.

my petrol transactions are mostly delayed by 1 day - petron. i have done multiple purchases that are delayed by 1 day as well. just because you havent experienced it before, does not mean it never happens.

Btw, this is also mean that is possible to get more than RM50 rebate e.g. RM52.5, because RM2.5 is bring forward from earlier month where rebate is not included. Right?
*
makes no difference if u max out the rebate every month.

think it's best for you to call CS directly and discuss over the phone. they are pretty efficient.

alternatively post your the screenshot of your transactions here. hard for us to tell anything without knowing the head and tail. you may blur the merchants if you want.
