I've charged Airasia Airfares to AMEX Gold Card,
am I entitled for the travel insurance?

If the flight is delay/cancel, I've to contact maybank for Insurance Claim right?
*
MBB2 AMEX Gold Card doesn't come with complimentary travel insurance.

I used my MBB2 AMEX and MBB2 VISA in Japan last week and surprisingly the exchange rate for both cards were more or less the same, around JPY1,000 = RM32.66. In the case of Japanese Yen, it means MBB2 AMEX is the better card. Anyway, i will login to my M2U and post the exact exchange rate later.

It had a similar deal before. Even OCBC had such promotion about two years ago. It was a buy 1 free 1 deal.

guys just realized if we use our TP to redeem the service tax is 2% cash back but if you use it to redeem eg. Aeon/Parkson vouchers would be around 1.67% cash back, so best is to keep calling to CS to redeem rm 50 ?  hmm.gif
*
Aeon is 2% too if you redeem the vouchers at Maybankard Centre.

hello,

if i applied the card through pledging FD, am i able to withdraw the FD the following year?
*
Actually, i was informed by people in Maybank credit card department that it is possible to request to unpledge the pledged FD account after 1 year. However, this is subject to management review and approval.

Even transaction done at Shell can sometimes be posted one day late especially if you go to refuel your car after 11pm.

For the record, some of the users here (alexwsk, Human Nature, ronnie, janson, sorry if i didn't mention your usernames) have all actively participating in this section for years and they are also amongst the first to use this card (MBB2 AMEX) when Maybank came up with this card in 2011 just before CNY. Of course there will be rare cases where we give the wrong information but since all these old regulars are taking the same stand on this issue, one can be certain that they are right and you are wrong smile.gif

**please hit the report button if this is getting out of hand, by the way. Otherwise, any healthy discussion of course, is totally acceptable.

The treatpoint exhange rate drop again. Is it recent? For eg.

Before this
McD Voucher RM10 - 2000TP (1TP=0.5%)(On the spot), 2500 (1TP=0.4%)(By Mail)
so 5x TP = 2.5% rebate (On the spot), 2.0% rebate  (By Mail)

Now
McD Voucher RM10 - 2500TP (1TP=0.4%)(On the spot), 3750 (1TP=0.267%)(By Mail)
so 5x TP = 2.0% rebate (On the spot), 1.3% rebate  (By Mail)

Parkson/Harvey Norman/Metroaya/Mydin RM50 - 12500TP(1TP=0.4%)(OTS)

By Mail
TESCO/Petronas/Giant/Hush Puppies RM50 - 13750 TP (1TP=0.36%)(5TP=1.8%)
Popular/McD/TESCO/Kenny Roger RM10 - 3750 TP (1TP=0.267%)(5TP=1.3%)
AEON RM100 - 26250 TP (1TP=0.38%)(5TP=1.9%)

Annual Fee Rm50-12500TP (1TP=0.4%)(5TP=2%)

So effectively,
Mbb 2 cards rebate become 5% cash + (1.3% to 2.0%) TP

So it drop further to become 6.3%-7.0% rebate from 7.0%. (2012-2013 rebate still 7.5% and higher)
*
No. It's not recent. It's been almost 1 year already. Time flies.
