Hi all,

I am just wondering what will happen when our card expires? does maybank automatically renew and send us a new card or do we have to reapply again? Thanks for the help.
*
no need reapply.

just give maybank a call and inform them of your upcoming expiration (few months in advance). They'll send you a new card.

whether it auto-renew and send to you without any trigger, not sure about this. No harm triggering ourself smile.gif

Hi guys, a noobie here~  biggrin.gif
Just wanna confirm, the cashback 5% is only on weekends right? and on weekdays, no cashback but only reward points for AMEX? so it means that if i wanna treat it as a cashback card, i can only use on weekends

Yup yup smile.gif

i realise alot petrol station dont allow us to use cc card for touch and go reload wor. i been tried at caltex and shell.

btw weekend got 5% cash back + 5x treat point. so if give them charge 50 cent should be worth right?
*
check this topic instead.

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1803385/latest

Petronas Kinrara accept cc reload for TnG. Amex accepted. 1% cash surcharge, so, still worth it paying with Amex.

I did my RM400 TnG reload last month.

sure, thanks alot.

can i know where is kinrara petronas? opposite bukit jalil golf club or much further? as i know along bukit jalil highway from lumba kuda to puchong, there are 1 shell and 1 petronas opposite golf club. and also 1 caltex nearby kinrara mrt development and 1 shell as well.

if from puchong to bukit jalil, 1 petronas and 1 shell petrol station.

so i assume the petronas is the 1 from puchong to bukit jalil right? beside all the second hand car / recond car shop and furniture shop

correct me if i am wrong
*
Google Map http://goo.gl/maps/2qQNx

it's nearer to LDP/Sunway Toll or Puchong than coming from Bukit Jalil/TPM cuz u need to make a u-turn back. thumbup.gif

*edit: yeah, the one next to furniture shop area.

ya i am right.

argh like tis if i come from sunway, how i get to there? because normally i take the bridge on right hand side and keep left then go to bukit jalil.

i dont think is possible for me to get myself to there even through i take left hand lane / under bridge and wait for traffic light? the traffic light will lead me to puchong
*
yes, go up the bridge, and keep left heading to Bukit Jalil.

Always keep left and you'll see the Petronas. Be careful on this left turn cuz there are speeding cars coming from left lanes (those who took the "under the bridge" roads from Sunway or coming from Puchong).

I think to be safer, take left lane (before going up the bridge/flyover). stopped for a while at the main crossroads below (traffic lights). Go further ahead past traffic lights, and keep left instead.

This way, you wont have conflicting cars hitting you smile.gif

or still can turn left to bukit jalil highway? been long time nvr stop at traffic light. haha
*
i also long time didnt take the lanes below. i guess there is an exit to head back up to Bukit Jalil.

Don't go there on purpose. Only when you're nearby, e.g. Subang, Subway Pyramid/Lagoon, IOI Mall, etc.

It cost me RM5+ of tolls just to go there, so I only plan my reload if I got activities at Pyramid. brows.gif

I have the MBB 2 Card Gold and I am qualified for the Platinum 2 Card. Should I go for it? Is there any hidden benefit that I had to sacrifice to obtain the Platinum Card? Or is there any extra cost in getting the Platinum (eg: annual fee)?
And if I can just called the card centre asking for an upgrade without submitting any document? I maintain all my banking account with maybank
*
i've been thinking this too, paperwork already ready for upgrade smile.gif

one reason that got me thinking was that mbb2card gold looks ugly with the "dirty gold" color biggrin.gif the dark-bluish of Platinum looks kinda nice laugh.gif

one other reason that stopped me was that by upgrading to Platinum, it already marked me as having at least RM60k annual income. sweat.gif

something different to spice up the discussion biggrin.gif

It's a great initiative by Maybank. They're setting an expectation (receiving end) and also manage sender's transfer planning too.

However, for public bank, it is the next working days...
*
actually before 1 April, same day IBG is already implemented if you transfer before noon.

with this granular IBG timetable, it's gives M2U users better planning and expectation to recipient too. thumbup.gif

Astro payment using AMEX is possible at Astro Lifestyle Centre. But not via any online channels, Astro's or bank's.

notworthy.gif  Wahh great formula!! You must have been taking a lotttt of advantage since using this card  rclxms.gif Really need to plan well~

By the way, I am single and dont have wife/kid, so kinda hard to spend so much on groceries~ I use petrol quite heavily though, personally use around RM400 per month inconsistently... So I guess it might be a great card for family use, not for single people like me~  cry.gif
*
since this is your 2nd card and low spending, mbb2card is the best. no category limit. to make full use of RM50 cashback, just try not to spend >RM1K, i think you're safe here.

refer your UOB's statement to analyze where you spend. first few months, adjust your spending behavior and locations/merchants that accepts AMEX. Lots of trials and asking each merchants when paying bills brows.gif

me, same like you, cannot reach the criteria of HLB Wise. At most, i can meet ~6X RM50 transactions. So, i shifted all my AMEX spending exclusively on weekend. Workdays, if need to spend, always push for AMEX first. Although no cashback, 5X TP is actually good enough for future redemption (gst, voucher, treatsfair, etc.)

general rule of thumb: if no high spending, then dont spend so much just to get the cashback. dont get another card for the sake of getting more cashback. each card is chargeable RM50 GST per annum. each card also have its annual fee (if any). <-- waiveable or not, that's subjective to each bank.

exception would be mobile bills, utilities, unifi, etc whereby you definitely need to pay every single month. so, excess payment will be used to reduce next month's bills.

for me, i already overpaid my 2 postpaid mobile lines until end 2014 brows.gif each bill is around RM19 and RM30, so i overpaid it to get as much cashback as i can. Now i no need to worry my bills the whole year. <-- now you know why my monthly mobile bills cannot even meet HLB Wise's criteria? laugh.gif laugh.gif

every person has their own reason to spend and purpose to get a card. the card suppose to help you, not making you a slave to it laugh.gif

Hi all,

I received SMS stated there is transaction on steamgames.com with RUB9000 transacted by 3AM. Called and get Maybank to block the card but they will need to investigate. Was informed the new card will be ready after 5 working days.

1) Anyone logged any fraud case with Maybank before? How does the reversal process goes?
2) What happened to Verified by Visa/MasterCard Securecode? Not received SMS and yet the transaction gone through.
2) Does the investigation really take up to 45 days?
3) In case the amount appeared in my account do I need to make payment for it? (To avoid late charges/interest charges/CCRIS report record)

Thanks.
*
you called maybank immediately after receiving the sms?

if yes, then you're in the safe zone. cc charges not yet fully charged to your cc, it's just being "floated" at the moment. once you reported this fraud transaction, maybank will flag this and not let it through.

as a safebuard, maybank immediately terminate the card and reissue you a new card, FOC.

if you didnt do anything, and only noticed this in your statement, chances are the fraud transaction already gone thru. then you need to file a dispute form to get maybank to investigate and reverse the charges. it's tedious once you're at this stage.

wow, 9000 RUB = 800+ MYR rclxub.gif

Not immediate, as the SMS was received around 3am and I only manage to call Maybank by 7am. I did check the transaction not yet appear in my account. Is Maybankard had higher fraud case compare to other?
*
should be ok. my prev case was around 4am SMS, but called maybank around 7am too. Maybank told me the charges are still floating, so they can stop it from going thru.

gotten new card 1 week after. statement didnt show the fraud transaction, so Maybank have stopped it the moment i reported the fraud transaction. so far, nearly 1 year after replacement, safe and sound. biggrin.gif

every bank have fraud cases wannn. just Maybank is a big bank with huge customer base. chances of any of its customer kena fraud is there.

the SMS notificatoin is a precaution for us customers to protect ourself. first line of defense thumbup.gif

*
just kepoh curious about Zing: If your tng credit dropped to <RM50 at the toll today, when will the auto-reload gonna happen? Any idea how long does it take? sweat.gif
