called up Maybank about the missing AMEX TreatsPoints.
it seems M2U is having a system upgrade/maintenance, which affects the display of AMEX TPs. That's why it's not listed in M2U for some. they are aware of this enquiry. no loss of TP count (existing and newly acquired points). No specific timeline given on the completion of the upgrade/maintenance. |

QUOTE(egagah @ Mar 29 2014, 01:07 PM) hey to all the sifus here, few questions i want to ask =P here's a simplified table:(I am only eligible to apply for the gold cards) 1) No cashback given on weekdays at all? 2) If the place accept AMEX, then confirm I will get the 5X points? 3) AMEX can be used for online payments? (umobile bill, lelong.com.my purchases, TNB bill) 4) Not listed but just in case someone already went to these places, could you tell me if you still get 5% or not: - Shell station section 17 IZZARA/CHIN NYIT SIN 5) I know the points can be used to rebate GST (12500 for RM50), but other than that any use for it? I'm considering whether or not to get another card (ocbc titanium) for non-weekend transactions if the points are not very useful. Any forums that has the full list of claimable items? Finally, apologies for asking all these and not researching myself. Honestly I try to find and read but sometimes the more I read the more confused I get :S. Really sorry for inconvenience caused! Thanks in advance for your replies!
If you plan majority of your spending on weekends, you'll gain more using Amex than Visa/MC. Amex's 5X TPs is equivalent to 2% (in TPs), higher than OCBC Ti's 1% (in cashback). Effectively, Amex in weekends give you 5% in cashback and 2% in TPs, that's 7% worth of gain each month.. If you have other cards to complement, e.g. OCBC Titanium or HLB Wise, then use those for weekdays and/or higher spending. some recommended readings: http://generationsxyz.blogspot.com/2012/02...an-express.html http://generationsxyz.blogspot.com/2013/12...edit-cards.html |

QUOTE(cx2531 @ Mar 31 2014, 01:39 PM) Amex's 5X TPs is equivalent to 2% (in TPs), higher than OCBC Ti's 1% (in cashback). it's equivalent value only, not cold hard cash.I dont understand about this. is it weekday got 2% cash back ? you see, you need 12,500 TPs to redeem a RM50 voucher. in order to obtain 12,500 TPs, you need to spend/swipe RM2,500 (2,500 X 5 = 12,500). So, RM50/RM2,500 = 2% Now, work the numbers the other way round:
In short, you swipe RM2,500 to give you 12,500 TPs to redeem RM50 voucher. Advantage: Higher equivalent-value in TPs than OCBC's. Disadvantage: TP redemption only. Now, let's compare OCBC's 1% cashback: To get RM50 cashback, you need to swipe RM5,000 using OCBC. Advantage: Cashback can be used immediately to offset some of your cc outstanding. The more you spend, the more cashback you get, no limit. Disadvantage: Low 1% cashback. This post has been edited by cybpsych: Mar 31 2014, 02:19 PM |

QUOTE(victorywp @ Mar 31 2014, 06:11 PM) i don't know either because i didn't update anything since 2005. just had a long chat with Maybank CS.i thought anybody with mbb cc and using m2u will automatically opt for the edm. In M2U, i ticked some "Financial Interest", e.g. Credit Card, Insurance, Investment, etc. Submit the changes, and it's done. Logout, login M2U and selection is there. Now, i wanted to untick some of the options, and submit changes again. The page refreshed with my previous selection. Logout, login M2U but selection is the previous one. based on MBB's CS, I cannot untick the options after I ticked them earlier (huh?! weirdddddddddddddddddddddd |

QUOTE(victorywp @ Mar 31 2014, 09:17 PM) that sounds so weird if to involve product manager to deselect for you on your behalf... tried multiple browsers, incognito mode, cleared cache/cookies, tried on 3 systems.have you tried clearing cache or cookies and try again? I might try this tomorrow. I have a hunch that changes is limited to 1 time per day. No harm trying tomorrow. |

got a simple quesiton about mbb's cc payment vs due date.
If the due date = 20 April, that means any full payment made on and before 20 April will not incur any penalty/interest fee right? what if i make full payment at 10pm/11pm on 20 April? is this consider safe? |
