looking thru it in ebay now ...
when i bought it over 10 years ago - some US sellers still sell it and ship it oversea ...
then came the phobia - they are afraid that it might fall into the wrong hands and be used against them ... (scared some might eat it, get popeye power and run faster in suicide bombings) ... some sellers willing to send over to malaysia/singapore but they are asking a really really high price almost 700 USD a case of 12 packs !!(you know lar, they want extra $$ to ship it overseas especially malaysia) ... in my point of view, if can get around shipped over around 450 USD is reasonable d ... bear in mind, 1 pack is only 1 meal (1 main meal, side dish, dessert/energy drinks, FRH, Coffee and a pack of condiments - with a cute bottle of tabasco sauce)
A black market source in bangkok selling it (i think that fella got it from US navy ships) and the price he is selling it around THB 300 per pack (a case of 12 he is willing to let go around THB3,300/ or 100 USD) very cheap ... but problem is that not sure they are fresh or not cause the hot climate ..... i think can get better source in Phuket since many the USN stop there many times need to go there and find.
have a few types of US Military MREs around ... what i heard of are
1 ) those "standard" issue one with brown bags ... normal meals with high carbo
2 ) cold weather - contains more fatty foods and foods not easily frozen in cold weather
3 ) Relief meals - usually dropped into warzones or famine areas (contains halal meals as well)
Hi... I read your post... I am currently serving in the wataniah regiment. I have 8 packages of Malaysian rangsum tempur. Each pack I sell RM60.
