bought myself pack A US-MIL MRE last time ...

cost me almost 300 USD ...

but its damn worth it cause the food is nice ...

do not ... DO NOT finish all of them in a go unless you want to be a fat arse

interested ?? i wanna get some more, but shipping will kill me alone ...

Are you really interested in the food? It's not cheap you know.

yeap ... tried it once dude ... love it ... i bought it from ebay and ship it over using USPS (cheapest rate that time - FedEx quoted more than 500 USD)
the FRH is a goody .... heat up food by pouring some water in the bag and drop your MRE (with the pack) into the bag

where else can you get good hot food in and instant ... and dont need to wash up after that

the coffee is strong ... and also the desserts
some more have instant high energy juicy powder

when i was working in the cruise line few years back, a US Carrier call on Phuket port o call ...... fark !!! The the US soldiers traded their MREs there for cheap !!! i was talking with one of them and they offered me 70 USD a case ..... but a waste cause i cannot bring in onboard my ship (got meat inside)

How long does a typical MRE last? hmm.gif
*
depending on temp, 15 years .. as i know for american ones ...
some opened it after 20 years and still taste nice (except for the texture) ...

and the americans really go crazy over these stuff .... if want to get one, careful cause alot of imitation out there ...
real US Mil specs MRE have high carbo ...

and most importantly "U.S. Government Property, Commercial Resale is Unlawful" words brows.gif brows.gif

looking thru it in ebay now ...
when i bought it over 10 years ago - some US sellers still sell it and ship it oversea ...

then came the phobia - they are afraid that it might fall into the wrong hands and be used against them ... (scared some might eat it, get popeye power and run faster in suicide bombings) ... some sellers willing to send over to malaysia/singapore but they are asking a really really high price almost 700 USD a case of 12 packs !!(you know lar, they want extra $$ to ship it overseas especially malaysia) ... in my point of view, if can get around shipped over around 450 USD is reasonable d ... bear in mind, 1 pack is only 1 meal (1 main meal, side dish, dessert/energy drinks, FRH, Coffee and a pack of condiments - with a cute bottle of tabasco sauce)

A black market source in bangkok selling it (i think that fella got it from US navy ships) and the price he is selling it around THB 300 per pack (a case of 12 he is willing to let go around THB3,300/ or 100 USD) very cheap ... but problem is that not sure they are fresh or not cause the hot climate ..... i think can get better source in Phuket since many the USN stop there many times need to go there and find.

have a few types of US Military MREs around ... what i heard of are
1 ) those "standard" issue one with brown bags ... normal meals with high carbo
2 ) cold weather - contains more fatty foods and foods not easily frozen in cold weather
3 ) Relief meals - usually dropped into warzones or famine areas (contains halal meals as well)
