QUOTE(CP88 @ Mar 1 2015, 01:05 AM) I am having the aircond problem as well. When the fan on 1, this weird smell will come out when you hit on the pedal to accelerate the car faster. Any solutions on this? Cabin filter? Sorry, problem still not solved. Not my car so I don't drive most of the time and I think we all just ignore it now.

QUOTE(Kaka23 @ Dec 21 2015, 05:22 PM) Thanks Bro.. will take note on that! Plan to change tyres in Jan.. That poster is right about Klang, I got 4 pieces of Toyo NanoEnergy 3 for RM 170 each, total with alignment (balancing free), nitrogen, credit card fee, about RM 778. Hin Leong Klang. Continental CPC2 was RM 195 each and Michelin XM2 was RM 280 each. Enjoying the Toyos so far, good value.

QUOTE(thiri56 @ Jan 11 2016, 02:24 PM) Hi guys, I am driving City 2013 model, current mileage at 42000km. Is it too soon? For most of you guys, yourll change brake pads at what mileage? I would like to ask for advise on the brake pads. During my previous service, at 37k, service advisor mentioned that i should change my brake pads in the next service. Roughly what is the price to change all 4 brake pads at Honda Service Centre? If I were to change outside, what brand should I look for and what is the price? If I change brake pads outside, will all the parts at the tires area void warranty? Dear sifus, please advise. Mine 45k changed, RM 400 for front only in Honda SC. Bendix General CT RM 300-ish for front and back without installation from spare parts shop, would recommend these brake pads. Good value ceramic pads. Rear haven't changed yet.

No problem bro, Toyo NanoEnergy3 is the stock tyre for Mazda3 . So far I've only seen City using Goodyear NCT5, CPC2 and XM2. Here is the link to their fb page Klang Hin Leong Tyre Services S/B

Anyone else's City sometimes makes grinding kind of noise when accelerating? Between 2nd to 3rd gear range, after that all smooth. Not all the time. Very hard to diagnose.

QUOTE(Aiwen85 @ Feb 4 2016, 08:42 AM) I had similar encounter. After I changed the ATF fluid during 60k service, so far no more grinding noise. Hm now I'm at 50k. I also suspect the ATF and filter but when I checked, it is clear and still reddish. Thanks for the info bro, might move my ATF change to coming 50k service This post has been edited by secondrate: Feb 5 2016, 09:36 AM

QUOTE(Johannas @ Feb 3 2016, 11:29 AM) Thanks for your feedback Btw, what's the standard market price for ORIGINAL honda city brake pads if we buy from their authorized parts dealer and not from SC? I asked spare parts shop - Bendix General CT (I like this - ceramic) for front and rear is RM 300+ excluding labour. Honda SC will charge RM 400+ for front only with labour.

Anyone have metal "tick tick tick" sound from the boot area? It happens only when car is moving. I have managed to solve mine mostly (I think), if anyone has the same problem I can share the solution.

QUOTE(j45on @ Apr 5 2016, 02:19 PM) Please do. Appreciate it. Fix from here: Rear Deck "popping/clicking/tapping/ticking" noise. And from here: DIY - Fix your Rear Deck "popping/clicking/tapping/ticking" noise.Fixes originally for 86/BRZ. So you will need: 1) Cloth 2) White lithium grease spray with red spray tube (I used CRC brand, from Ace Hardware RM 28) 3) Flathead screwdriver Steps: 1) Locate the source of the noise. Mine was from the left hand side (opposite driver side) in the boot. Sound was still there after removing the parcel shelf with the 3rd brake light. It was a metallic "tick tick tick" sound, like metal panels flexing. 2) Locate the welds in the area and push the head of the screwdriver between the panels. Twist it and you should hear a cracking noise. Continue twisting until it stops. 3) Attach the red spray tube to the spray can of grease and spray it into the gap between the panels. Wipe the excess off. 4) Rinse and repeat for other welds in the area. Note: Be careful with the screwdriver, it can scratch the panels. This post has been edited by secondrate: Apr 6 2016, 04:34 PM

QUOTE(winterwish @ Apr 7 2016, 11:00 AM) Mine burned as well, never bothered to replace.. haha. (pretty sure you had to take off the whole panel to replace the bulb. Maybe got easier way I don't know. Thought maybe can just remove the cover but probably need to solder the LED. To me not worth doing because the LED will be on all the time so it will kaput again eventually even though the LED is only a few sen. Just sometimes wonder if the aircon is on or off la.

Why not get the new Mi Car Charger? 2 USB slots with fast charge 3.6A/2.4A (and also Android Quick Charge), all metal construction for RM 35. Received mine today from Xiaomi Malaysia

QUOTE(winterwish @ Apr 12 2016, 03:45 PM) The USB need to get power from somewhere I guess. Unless can tap into the 12v outlet. I really have no idea. LOL. SOLD OUT already.. haha http://store.mi.com/my/item/3160900001Now so many to gadget plug into the 2 slots. Drive recorder, phoness, tablet etc so having 2 is not enough. And I think it looks nice if the USB sit flush with the dashboard instead of sticking out like most car charger using the 12v. Haha yeah, I got 2, 1 for each car, luckily. Damn nice feel for the price. Just FYI in case you want a non-invasive solution. Just the head with a LED ring sticks out, I'll try upload a photo later.

QUOTE(winterwish @ Apr 12 2016, 06:30 PM) That would be great, if it does't stick out too much maybe I can consider it (after they stock up) I've decided to leave mine as is.. haha.
Not sure if clear. The light isn't on because the car wasn't on. Also RM 54 for an LED that will rosak again in 1-2 years...

Any bros can recommend a good shop to respray whole car? QUOTE(ADJ @ Nov 7 2016, 05:19 PM) Having done the ATF flush, it doesn't fix the D1-D2 shift shock, that's just the way the 5AT is. Flushing the ATF and using good ATF makes it feel slightly smoother/lighter, but it's subtle. If you ask me, Honda "fixed" this by having the CVT in the GM6 City, haha. For other Honda cars with the 5AT (Civic, CRV, Accord, etc), I don't know if it's smooth or not though... Did you do this in Honda SC? I want to flush mine too. I don't think they do that as part of the normal ATF change during service. QUOTE(Thrust @ Nov 20 2016, 07:05 AM) Since this version of Honda City is around 7 years in the market, can anyone share their experience on repairs? At 57k... not much. Aside from regular maintenance - some made in Japan door clips and throttle body clean. Also I DIY a fix with white lithium grease for weld creaking. I have a problem with the 5AT though that requires frequent ATF change, or maybe a flush This post has been edited by secondrate: Nov 21 2016, 05:56 PM

QUOTE(ADJ @ Nov 21 2016, 06:54 PM) Nope, I did it at a Honda specialist workshop, JS Auto Tyre Service. I detailed it in a previous post (https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3139714/+1860#) You can try to ask at Honda SC if they would do it for you though, but I'd rather do it outside. Thanks bro, will keep in mind. Very helpful post too My ATF was also bad shape around then but unfortunately nobody diagnosed it correctly so the gearbox occasionally makes strange noises now (but it wasn't black or smelled burnt, its like the additives just broke down totally). On the aircon filter, since we got our car, there has been a strange smell but after 6 years, got used to it already. Next service 60k due to change anyway. My FC is pretty good especially while cruising. I'm using Toyo NE03. Generally my SC has been good and are willing to order parts and do what I ask but we'll see how they handle the ATF change. I was very happy with the throttle body clean. This post has been edited by secondrate: Nov 21 2016, 09:18 PM
