Driving the honda city  E spec 2013, only complain is the brake and the gearbox. The car braking power is really weakkkk. And the gearbox is killing too.

Just done for service 40k, here is the items for service:

- Semi Sythenic
- Washer Drain 14MM
- Oil Filter Cartrid
- Set, Fuel Strainer
- Retainer
- Brake Fluid Dot
- Element, Filter

Total cost RM 579.20 

Checked the record here, and the cost for 40k service around RM345, no idea why some items are different

Asked the items whether optional, however, all items are compulsory said by Honda staff...

Honda city is using ns40zl..

I think it's fine for extra 1000 km, i was once exceed 1.2k, at least SC dint kacau la.
agree, but to enjoy the 5 years warranty just have to stick with the 5k service interval even using full syn oil

My 100K service damage at Honda SC GA. No ATF filter change? Or this City do not have 1?
I can't remember mine. But I used up all 4 bottles DW1 in my last service.

Having done the ATF flush, it doesn't fix the D1-D2 shift shock, that's just the way the 5AT is. Flushing the ATF and using good ATF makes it feel slightly smoother/lighter, but it's subtle. If you ask me, Honda "fixed" this by having the CVT in the GM6 City, haha.
For other Honda cars with the 5AT (Civic, CRV, Accord, etc), I don't know if it's smooth or not though...

about 5 bottles of DW1 ATF was used, which is 5L. I can't recall if the ATF filter was changed or not, I think it would depend on the condition of your filter/mileage.

Honda SC may not have the part available as it was not listed as a maintenance item to begin with. I bought the filter myself at Hingan.

The filter is located underneath the airfilter box. Replacing it via DIY is quite easy as the filter only cost about rm60.

Since this version of Honda City is around 7 years in the market, can anyone share their experience on repairs?

Car getting old is lidat lo... Have you replaced your spark plugs & battery as these may affect engine start up during cold.

Back then when I complained to Honda back in 2011, they replaced my battery but problem still persist. I complained again and they replaced my starter motor. In fact, i receive a letter requesting me to send the car back to replace the starter motor. Never encountered starting problem ever since (especially when engine is hot).

I noticed the Denso motor are of better quality when you crank it. The sound is a lot different from the defective one.

Experience Honda mechanic will know City is plague with this issue. They just won't inform you due to whatever reason.

Only facelift got vsa. I use prefacelift 2012. Sadly, no vsa. Central lock also dont have 
For aircond, can service at denso. I always service at service centre. Only aircond and tyre I service outside. Other lets service centre do including snow wash

I always stick to service centre. Now cars already 5 years old with 143k km 

Really satisfied with Kah Motor. Problem is a bit expensive. Fyi, my friend who service outside report car got problem  . I really facepalm. I never had any problem, I believe Honda change my car parts b4 it is broken which is a good things, later got problem here and there also headache la if service outside.

So, better stick bro to service centre.

100k you need to replace engine oil and filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, inspect drive belt and probably do a coolant replacement and ATF fluid drain and refill.

Inspect air filter, cabin filter.

My car is at 175km mileage (9 years) and have not change absorber since Day1.
Need to change the abosrber however changing to Showa absorber + all the bushings + mountings + lanour will cost up to RM1.8k for all 4 absorbers which is hurting my wallet.

Right now, doing survey on the absorber brand/price vs comfort.

This version dont have isofix. You need to tie it with seatbelt.

but can the rear seat be opened? because I can only see 1 buckle.

Actually, if you drive normally and not spirited driving, CC6 is a good option. Soft, quiet and comfy. However, don't drive fast when its raining on the CC6.

I am using CC6 also but I would suggest you to try Goodyear Assurance Triple Max 2. Many said this is a good all round tyre.

I had use the last generation of XM2 tyre. Though handling is good, these tyres are hard as a rock and noisy. I will steer clear from XM2 and even XM2+ (given the fact that these are just enhancement tyre over the previous generation).

Not to mention Michelin tyres are pricier due to their extensive marketing cost incurred. Thus, I would still recommend you to try Goodyear ATM2.
