sad.gif Hi All Sifus,

I had driven the city about 8 months.

I noticed city seems to have sluggish pick up.

Anyone want to comment on this issue.

Many thanks
*
I driven the City for 67 months. Didn't noticed any sluggish pick up in fact quite power if i floor it.

Anyway I have added voltage stabliser and K&N filter. Maybe this has help to improve the power.

Oh ya. I have changed to 205/50/R16 tyres but I don't feel it sluggish.

Hi Everyone,

My car just hit 139k few days back.

I just replaced my front and rear brake pads (Original Honda - Nissin).

Problem I having now is during braking at high speed (Above 100kmph), I will have vibration but not at low speed (below 80kmph).

I have skimmed my disc rotor few months back because of a very bad vibration at any braking speed.

Now this is a problem again. Heard that the original rotor is very prone to bend due to the current weather of rain and hot.

Just wondering anyone here have purchase a new rotor (original Honda), based online it is Bosch brand. How much is the expected damage?

Or should I change to Brembo (expected price?) with a new pair of brembo brakes

Hi Shreddy.. Most likely your rotors are warped. I recommend you to change them. I am using Brembo OEM rotors & i they are nothing that great. You can still go ahead with the Brembo rotor but they do get rusty on certain parts of the area just like Honda rotors.

Maybe you can try other brands of rotors? :-)
*
Hmm.. heard honda rotor always wrap.

How much you paid for the Brembo rotor?

mine was vibrating too when braking in high speed.
skimmed it before but it seems the rotor keep having problem.

i believe the honda disc rotor parts is just too bad quality.
it happened to my parents old honda accord too.

change all 4 rotors
total damage less than rm 500

working fine until now.
*
I think mine is only front rotor. Most probably will change new one but go back honda original parts.

Coz i heard drilled and crossed rotor will use a lot of brakes.

*

My car just hit 156k++ KM. Couldn't bear with the vibration around near stopping when braking. When pressing the brakes also got "Ee Oo Ee Oo" sound like the pump not enough lubricant.
When pressing to full stop.. got "Gong Gong Gong" sound like brakes jamming.

End up.. found out Front Rotors wrapped and Brake Pump Assembly part got torn.

Damaged RM994 with GST.
1. Front both rotors
2. Front both brakes pads
3. Brake pump assembly part
4. Engine oil change (Semi-Syn)
5. Japan manufactured Oil Filter
6. Brake Oil (Complete Flush)
7. Gear Oil (Complete Flush)

All above replaced with Honda Original Parts.

wana ask all d sifus here...
d tyre noise for dis car is quite obvious...
u all got do anithing to reduce it?
like sound proofing or other method...
*
I did sound proofing for all 4 doors, inner floor, boot, mudguard area and engine hood.

Since then hardly hear my engine sound (when idle or cruising), tyres rotating sound gone (using Yokohama AR01 - 205/50/R16), motorbike exhaust sound also softer. Music played out more power and solid.

So conclusion either sound proofing or change a more silent tyres.

When my tyres are 50% wear out, sometimes still can hear the tyre noise but minimum, but that is the consequence of using single rotation, lower profile tyres. At least I get grip when driving.

Where did you do your soundproofing work? Damage to wallet how many RMs? Planing to do mine as well..
*
Hehe.. someone got poisoned already. I did it at HT Auto. SS1, Petaling Jaya.

Damaged? depending on what you want.. there are 2 types of Dynamat. One normal and one lite.

Mine is normal cause that time the Lite one not out yet so there is additional weight added onto the car.

My 4 doors, floor, mudguard and boot is placed with one box of Dynamat Normal - damaged around RM1.5 - 2k

My Engine hood is with 1 piece of Dynamat Lite and 1 piece of Dynamat Hoodliner - damaged less than RM1k.

So in total around RM3k if my memory served me well (I installed in way back 5 years ago).

Happy soundproofing. Oh ya the lady boss name is Karen if you visit HT Auto just mention Edward with Honda City or from HC3 introduced one. Possible some discounts whistling.gif

Been planing to install it before, never had the budget + time. Haha. Maybe I'll do after I renew my insurance and roadtax. The wind + outside noise is damn irritating.

They take out the whole seat to install the floor one right, hope nothing goes wrong when they put it back together again.
*
Yeah. They will have to remove the seats to install it. Mine so far so good.. you just have to monitor them when they install.. make sure every screws or nuts taken out is accounted for flex.gif

Yea.. my luck is terrible with that sort of thing. Any major work done to my car sure got problem in the future. Sigh.
Walauweh, Golf GTi ke bro  tongue.gif
*
Then it is hard to consider for soundproofing as it requires the dissembling of the door panels like when you install your tinting. Remove seats and floor carpet to install the car floor. Removing the mudguard area to install. Remove the boot carpet to install. etc

The car is quite heavy (3000KG), and uses a 1.8 engine. Usually that means terrible fuel economy. Yea maybe ask around in HRV forum. Haha.

CRZ for weekend car is awesome if only 2 people is inside the car. Back seat pretty much useless  tongue.gif
*
so far my sis HRV having 14km/litre (shown in the meter) which is way better than my City that best 12km/litre.

Will update once I get more information from her since her car is only less than 200km clocked in.

Which spare part dealer you buy the brakepad? I need to replace mine as well. Did you buy the pad, then bring to outside workshop and ask them to replace it?
*
Tiong Nam Spare Part Sdn Bhd in Seapark.

I did buy from the above and went to my foreman and replaced it (just pay labour charges).

Anyway nowadays I just go straight to Kam Meng Auto Suppliers & Trading Co. in Seapark, PJ as well. They get the parts from Tiong Nam. All in service. Save time.
