So this is what happened with my quest to use HID ... by installing the projector on the City
After 2 weeks of deliberation, decided to get the service of this one guy to retrofit this onto the car. He mentioned that this is his last few projects being done out of his home, and they will be moving into a proper shop for projector retrofitting. In my previous post, i did mention there is several retrofitters in this forum and around KL. The reason i choose him was because they do original Morimoto Projectors. So this package comes with 2x Morimoto Projectors, 2 Mini Gatling Gun shrouds, 2 red LED for Demon Eye and 2 55w Instant HID ballast(4300k). Now the installation is really a pain, i have watched numerous videos on Youtube and it looks really easy on Youtube, in actual fact its not. It took a whole 6 hours to install and further 15 minutes to align the projectors beam pattern. There is several issues with this retrofitter in terms of his workmanship, though he knows what he is doing, but several things he did was shoddy, like cable management and ballast placements. Yet they are still better than the normal accessories shops out there which does even worst. He is willing to take suggestions and work towards it. Though he wasnt that cautious with the handling of items and sometimes he just does it as is, and not take much care in it. Not severe damage but just saying. Once done, it was only 3PM and wasnt able to align the beam, so was told that i can do it myself or come back when its dark, i did the latter and came back later and he took care of it. Now i am rather pleased with the work except for the issues above. Went on my way and got back, later did i found out the red demon eye wasn't working. Initially i wanted default option of not smoking the lamps, no CCFL, no demon eye as provided with the other retrofitters. But since this was included without me asking, i just went ahead. Dont really prefer any weird colors on the lens actually. So back to the demon eye, once i am home, found out its not working, on both sides. The demon eyes is actually split from the pilot light, no wires cut here as he used some form of connector to tap that pilot light cable. So i informed him and was told to go back to let him check, and this was around 1AM. So i went back and he checked and found out its faulty and its on both side, he found it weird. but i told him its ok, not important for me and let me know what he plans to do. He told me his stock will arrive next week and will replace it for me. If this is the case, means he has to redo the whole thing and re-open the headlamp again. I might not want to do that, but will see. Forgot to take pic of just the projector, this is with the Mini Gatling Gun shroud ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by earl-ku: Feb 6 2015, 02:46 PM |

QUOTE(fuzzy007 @ Aug 19 2014, 01:15 AM) guys, notice that the coolant at the reservoir tank decrease half of it within 2 months,no leaking detected, any ideas? hmmm its definitely leaking somewhere ... now it doesnt necessarily need to show a big puddle of red or whatever color liquid under your car as it might be a slow leak and they would have evaporated by the time it leaks out ...btw i'm using pure coolant without adding any water into it,this only happens twice, the first time the coolant decrease until it reach min level, for this time it just decrease half of it within 2 months refill it again and monitor ... i was also told some collant can be used directly ... where else some needs water added ... not sure ... but if it was replaced at the sc ...shoul dbe fine just top up and check |

QUOTE(ascll @ Aug 29 2014, 11:46 AM) Question for City (2009-2013YM) Mine is the 2011 model and it will not====================== What if we lock the car using alarm, and then open the car using key? Would the alarm trigger? If yes, how to disable the alarm? Thanks. apparently when u use the key to open, it will trigger the unlock on the alarm ... vice versa when u lock it with the key unlike the old school cars or alarm, the lock and unlock option is only via the remote |

I think the bulk of the still active folks in thei thread would have had the car for bout 3 - 4 years ... some 5. Mine is the 2011 unit and warranty over earlier this year. I have since serviced outside and never been back to SC. Using Liqui Moly MOS2 10-40 and changes it every 5k.
My question is you guys following the service regime as from the service center schedule? like timed changes of the other parts like brake oil, atf, and misc? i am maintaining the 5k km service interval, 20k ATF and i am on KNN air filter. The only thing pending to be changed is the petrol filter which cost bout 300 - 400 i think last quoted from my mechanic. and next service change brake oil and spark plug perhaps QUOTE(winterwish @ Aug 31 2014, 08:06 PM) The 2012 model is 5 years @ unlimited mileage. They really know how to lock their customer in. Since yours is out of warranty period, how often did you service (5k, 7k, 10k? or 15k QUOTE(Thrust @ Aug 31 2014, 08:10 PM) My warranty is over as i am driving a 2010 model.. I still service my car at Honda. I will change oil at every 8-10k kilometer but i am using the 5W40 fully synthetic oil. Current mileage only 51k QUOTE(mobeus @ Sep 1 2014, 12:18 AM) owh tak best nya...haha.. right now still send to honda sc and still follow their service schedule 5k. i love my car..haha dun have the courage yet to send for outside service now only ask for oil change and oil filter change. usually 5w30, damage still 200+ if i am not mistaken. air filter use k&n, pollen filter buy from lowyat. QUOTE(winterwish @ Sep 1 2014, 12:28 AM) How old is your car? Close to 3 years? I would use fully synthetic as well if they allow me to change every 10k. Yea, the unlimited mileage really tempting but you need to send to Honda until your warranty expires. I wouldn't mind if they allow a 10k service interval. 5k interval is like visiting them every 1.5 month for me. All new City 2014 and Civic is already using 10k interval. Their labour charge is too damn expensive lah, even minor service pun RM200+ I'm using K&N as well, pollen filter will buy from lowyat too once the time comes. haven't replaced mine yet (maybe thats why my aircond smells funny?) Right now I only do major service and oil change with them. So far warranty still intact. Haha. |

QUOTE(Thrust @ Sep 1 2014, 09:18 AM) It spans from the 2009 till 2013 model. Shifting is not as smooth if compared to Almera & Vios.. Have to live with it. Maybe changing ATF fluid at every 30,000km might help instead of the manufacturer's recommended 60,000km interval. i doubt any change of fluid will help ... this was mentioned so much earlier ... the only fix is just try to step on it and get into cruising speed as soon as possible ... |

QUOTE(lim_kobe2005 @ Sep 1 2014, 12:17 PM) Just to share with you guys, I'm driving city 09, last few days my car been broken in. They thief broke in through the bonnet key hole, seem it's pretty to break in. Now I can use any key to open my car bonnet. I know that some workshop has sell the bonnet lock to replace the original one, but i couldn't find one. if the red light on dash is not blinking means ur alarm is not armed ...My city now don't have 3 times signal flashing when I lock the door, and single flashing when I unlock the car? Maybe alarm system kaput dy? Even after I lock the door, there should be red blinking light on the dashboard, now it's disappear.. And I need suggestion to change my car security system, anyone know any workshop that I can get reasonable price for system in PJ? |

QUOTE(Thrust @ Sep 24 2014, 10:59 PM) Ride height is the same since stock spring is use. I install mine in Speedmod Cheras.. A forumer in LYN also. Felt comfortable letting them do the installation. Note that the rear shocks is feels more stiff than the front. After install the shocks.. Going over speed bump won't feel rocky up and down. QUOTE(Freddy933 @ Sep 25 2014, 12:03 AM) Speedmod price seems reasonable, i check IMP website, price quoted is RM1500 both Porplex and Comfort series. so expensive. Maybe Speedmod order in bulk.. hmmm This place is not bad - in fact all my service is done there now ... right after finishing my warranty, all my stuff done thereGot my stiff ring there too ... |

QUOTE(Dkck @ Oct 11 2014, 06:36 PM) My City 5G almost 90k mileage. Feel like a lot of thing need to replace already. mine approaching 95k next week i think1. Start car always fail on first attempt. Need 2 - 3 time to start . (Dry Battery die soon or other parts?) 2. Loud screeching noise when brake. (rotor or brake pad ? ) 3. When over speed bump always hit my car under carriage and bumper, still using stock absorber & spring . ( Need change spring or shock? ) Kindly advice. same issue here 1) same here, change your battery, some say change to bigger amp 2) i think you should change ur brake pad i believe or ur disc rotor needs skimming 3) same here, maybe wanna change both absorber or spring, go aftermarket ... else change back to ori, go spare part shop get ori ones and change outside, if u go back sc will cost u double |
