How old is your car? Close to 3 years?

I would use fully synthetic as well if they allow me to change every 10k.  shakehead.gif
Yea, the unlimited mileage really tempting but you need to send to Honda until your warranty expires. I wouldn't mind if they allow a 10k service interval. 5k interval is like visiting them every 1.5 month for me. All new City 2014 and Civic is already using 10k interval.

Their labour charge is too damn expensive lah, even minor service pun RM200+

I'm using K&N as well, pollen filter will buy from lowyat too once the time comes. haven't replaced mine yet (maybe thats why my aircond smells funny?)

Right now I only do major service and oil change with them. So far warranty still intact. Haha.

4 years and 6 months already.. Time to replace the shocks absorber also since it is getting soft.

seems that this model (2012) has bad shifting comfort on low speed (1st gear to 2nd gear)... any tips to smoothen it out?
*
It spans from the 2009 till 2013 model. Shifting is not as smooth if compared to Almera & Vios.. Have to live with it. Maybe changing ATF fluid at every 30,000km might help instead of the manufacturer's recommended 60,000km interval.

Just to share with you guys, I'm driving city 09, last few days my car been broken in. They thief broke in through the bonnet key hole, seem it's pretty to break in. Now I can use any key to open my car bonnet. I know that some workshop has sell the bonnet lock to replace the original one, but i couldn't find one.

My city now don't have 3 times signal flashing when I lock the door, and single flashing when I unlock the car? Maybe alarm system kaput dy? Even after I lock the door, there should be red blinking light on the dashboard, now it's disappear..

And I need suggestion to change my car security system, anyone know any workshop that I can get reasonable price for  system in PJ?
*
Maybe you should visit Honda SC and ask them to reset your alarm or maybe quotation on how much to repair the alarm.

Anyone service their car lately?
I'm going to change the dust and pollen filter this time.
In my last service I opt for semi sythentic oil, now just 3 months passed and only around 1,500 km travelled since last service.

Can I insist don't want to change engine oil and oil filter? (It's really waste and environmental not friendly)

Are they still insisting you to change engine oil every time you service or void your warranty if you don't?
*
If your car is still under warranty, then you will have to choice but to get it serviced at Honda SC to keep your warranty intact.

However, if your warranty is over.. then I suggest you to perform the service every 7,000km if you are using semi synthetic oil or 10,000km if you are on fully.

That is too bad, so much money will be wasted.

Can I buy my own dust and pollen filter and let Honda SC install it for me? They are charging RM3xx for the filter which can be bought at like RM25.
*
I don't think the pollen filter cost RM300+. Maybe you got it wrong with fuel filter. If I am not wrong, pollen filter cost about RM70+ from Honda SC.

hi guys.. need some advice here.. my city 2012 is due for service for 50k mileage.. does anybody know what is the damage to be expected?

thanks in advance  ^_^
*
50,000km service is just an ordinary service. How much will depends on the engine oil you choose.

:( Hi All Sifus,

I had driven the city about 8 months.

I noticed city seems to have sluggish pick up.

Anyone want to comment on this issue.

Many thanks
*

This is due to the fact that City is using 16" rim. Pick up will improve if you change your rim to 15".

Hi guys, want to get your opinion and advice,  currently im Using Eibach lower spring with Stock abs, front and rear and under carriage fire wall UR bar. Only run for 14k and not drive is even more floaty and bump and bounce like no body biZ and there is body roll even during slight cornering and not stable, seems like absorber weak.

Is there any after market that pair with eibach, with comfort and handling? Some suggest go for fully adjustable HiLoSoftHard BCV1, and i tested Titan.. Not bad.. But expensive and alot of comment say oil leak 3 tine within one month.

Thanks
*
I am using stock springs paired with IMP comfort shocks. The ride is firmer and handling is better than stock.

How about comfort bro??
*
Slightly stiffer but still acceptable. I feel it is better to replace o IMP comfort shocks than the original honda shocks. The original shocks is just not firm enough.

makes the ride any lower? and can share where u got yours?
*
Ride height is the same since stock spring is use. I install mine in Speedmod Cheras.. A forumer in LYN also. Felt comfortable letting them do the installation.

Note that the rear shocks is feels more stiff than the front. After install the shocks.. Going over speed bump won't feel rocky up and down.

My City also same. Hard to start. Need to start twice to 3 times.
Foreman told me is due to spark plug. My drive is 80k km now. Yours?
*
Its the starter motor problem. I got mine replaced to Denso unit and never encountered the problem anymore.

Thrust, thks for the reply. May i know how much and where u replaced? Very annoying la..especially when in hurry..

Replaced it FOC by Honda service centre during 1 of their product update program to replace the starter motor. They even added additional 2 grounding cables in the engine compartment.

uh i think i got the poisoned.. biggrin.gif now cannot tahan, body roll too much eventho i have frnt and rear UR bars

1k is for all 4 shocks?

anyway, what made u to choose IMP among all other brands?
*
Ya.. 1k for all shocks plus installation. They recomended these saying with these shocks comfort level are like 95% original ride and cornering ability will improve by 35%. In addition, these shocks have larger piston so they should be more durable than original shocks.

Based on my experience.. Ride is maybe around 10-20% stiffer and cornering ability did improve with lesser bodyroll than before.

Overall quite satisfied with it. If i replaced it with original shocks, i will feel no difference and thus no new excitement.

Hi guys, in regards of battery issue how long our battery can last long. Mine aldy 1 year plus with 35k km done. Lately need to crank twice.
*
I heard our maintenance free NS40ZL battery can last in between 1.5 to 2 years only due to its small size. If you want to avoid hassle.. Best to replace them after 1.5 years.

Been using my city for 2 years now, mainly used in KL only with infrequent travel on highways. When would u guys recommend i get my tires changed? From what i see the tire threads still good.

And how can i change my spark plug FOC? Experiencing similar problems like some of u guys ie have to start engine 2-3 times especially after driving then switching off engine for short while.
*
It has nothing to do with the spark plugs.. The problem lie with the starter motor. If you can't get the motor replaced, try to replace your battery with higher CCA (cold crank amphere). It will help start your car easier.

QUOTE(coo|dude @ Oct 7 2014, 02:25 PM)
Hi sifus, need some advice on City 09-13 version:

1. What modification should I do to increase the acceleration/pick up or when going uphills? I had been noticing that my City's power has been decreasing.

1b. Speaking of the same, any other modification/add ons that I can consider to add to my City for a better/comfortable/stable ride?

2. My City has been 4 years now - thinking to change the original fabric seat to leather seat. Do you have any recommendation of shop to do this? Which kind of leather will be good? Napa? And what color matches the Metallic Grey City?

3. Need to do some sound proofing for a more comfortable ride - any recommendation of shop too? Is there anything that I need to be aware of sound proofing?

Would be best if there's a single shop that provides all the above, but I know it will unlikely. So will appreciate your comments/suggestions and I will research further from there. Thanks Sifu!

What is the mileage of your caR? If it is approaching 100,000km, you should replace your iridium plugs. In addition, check whether your air filter is dirty or not. Lastly, get the Honda high performance engine cleaner & pour it into your gas tank. It may help restore some lost power.

Your ride becomes harsher because your shocks absorber have gotten softer after years of usage. You may consider replacing them to restore the original ride comfort & handling of your car.

Don't bother spending too much on leather seat wrap. The current seats cover are good in my opinion. Maybe you can try to do sound insulation on all 4 wheel arches.. I found that these areas are the noisiest & some sound insulation treatment can improve the cabin noise.

Please bear in mind that throttle controller or potent booster or whatever they call it is just a piggyback computer to trick your ECU to supply more or less fuel with the same degree of throttle. Your engine is not producing more horsepower.

For me, i will just step more on the pedal and save rm700 than to install this so called potent booster. For that amount of money.. I think its better to install a good mandrel bent exhaust manifold which helps in improving the HP and torque or your engine.

Ooooops , I am sorry that someone gave you a wrong info ,

as for me, I doubt I mention pb increases your horsepower . Did I?

We did not say pb is the best choice, we just say, since we are offering a 1 week full refund, no harm trying . Of course if there is other options that gives u a full refund trial , y not?

P.s stepping more on pedal? Haha .
*
Hi boss. I didn't know you were selling potent booster & I didn't read your quote about potent booster. It's just what I think on throttle controller.
