QUOTE(plumberly @ Jan 13 2016, 02:37 PM) My 2 cents as a newbie in this TV Box thing. Started only some 3-4 months ago. thanks bro. may i know what kind of devices and softwarez you using it? do you manage to play youtube or iflix at your tv? sorry if wrong thread again ... I recommend using Kodi AND other apk. Not just either one as none of them is perfect/complete. This means you need one with large memory (in PC terminology, at least 2 GB ROM and 16 GB RAM). Gives you more space to install apk, less problems in running the apk (need to keep free at least 200 MB for apk to run smoothly). My streamyx 8 Mbps is coping fine with my streaming. So no need to go over-board in getting 30 or 50 Mbps. Some times, the slow streaming speed is due to the heavy traffic load of the source rather than your broadband speed. E.g. when I get lot of buffering, I change it to another link/source, and usually, this solves my buffering problem. Of course, if you must get 1080 or 4K, then get faster speed one. Lastly, be prepared to go through a steep learning curve in using TV Box on setting it up and doing minor fixes. Not like ASTRO etc. Enjoy your new toy! |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jan 19 2016, 03:49 PM) popcorn work on torrents, will download the whole video onto yr flash memory. internal memory or flash SD card memory? how about live astrox channel, any source to view it from kodi / android box? thanks if the video is 800mb and yr device has 1gb, then fine. if the video is 4gb, you will need >4gb available on the flash. i have tried videos up to 7gb, will work as long as yr device has enough flash memory. that's why 16gb devices are superior. |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Jan 21 2016, 10:11 PM) I'm glad you asked.... You might want to clear your weekend schedule first... quick questions, for android we can install almost everything, apps, games, movie, torrent, etc.*Official KODI Forum support for RPI. *OSMC Forums_HowTo... (More geeky for some). *The official RPI Forum... (Has everything from beginners - advanced level). Alternatively or in addition to the above, you should check out YouTube videos about the RPI... There are quite a number on there, showing setup, performance, tutorials, OS replacements, etc... The online RPI community is a huge one. Yep, cuz KODI still reigns as a media center and there are android apps that still function satisfactorily. Most purchase Android boxes for more than just streaming As*** channels. how about RPI? can i installed games, softwarez, etc? |
