so, i say:
kodi (formerly xbmc) is the mother of all apps.
mashup is the mother of all addons.
bbts is the mother of all live tv.

Wow!!! Thanks a lot AVFAN, this is a really great share!!
I would say, throw in also the XBMCtorrent addon to stream movies from torrent (just like how Popcorn Time does it), Kodi is really a complete media center now.

i wanted to see how that utorrent work in kodi, but can't get the program addon - message always fail to install at 9x%. will try again.

curious... what is it like? how is selection of torrent done, what sites, stream it like popcorn?

The XBMCtorrent addon can be grabbed from here https://github.com/steeve/xbmctorrent/relea...rrent-0.6.4.zip

Once the addon is launched, you will first choose from a list of providers, like YIFY, KickAssTorrent, then proceed to browse the movies from there.

You can also configure the addon so that the movie downloaded will not be deleted after you watched, in case you want to save it.

By the way, Mashup has been closed down now sad.gif

Thanks for link.
Tried that, got it installed, can see how it works, can see all the torrents.
But all of the received error failed script XBMC torrent when tried to play.

Can you advise if there is any setting I need to do?
I just tried it with defaults.

Or perhaps some update is awaited, like I see some addons failed script initially but became ok with updates later....?

If it works, wow!!
Mashup... Yes closed n goodbye.  sad.gif but.... Having seen some saying goodbye and coming back weeks later, we shud b optimistic! Maybe it will comeback as MessUp. biggrin.gif

Eh, that is weird. I use OpenELEC on Rasperry PI, and able to play all the movies. The only setting I have configured is the download folder location, where the movies will be saved and I also disabled the auto-delete.

May be the script failure is caused by insufficient disk space of the default location, if the setting above is not set. (just guessing)

The only failed script error I received before is when trying to show the list which contains movie "Autómata" due to its funny character in the movie title.
It is now fixed using the steps from http://www.iwillfolo.com/2014/11/quick-fix...-tv-shows-list/

Other than this, all the movie playback works fine without error, be it 1080p/AC3/DTS format.

AVFAN, glad that you got it working.

chokia, no worry. To be frank, with the bbts shared by AVFAN and the torrent addon, you will not miss anything even without mashup.

I would say, they are even much better than mashup

Hi AVFAN,

Sorry I did not know that you have problem running it on Android.

Just for my knowledge, what is your XBMC cache setting? Did you set it to cache to local drive (cachemembuffersize=0)?

If you do, set it non local, e.g. cachemembuffersize=104857600, see if it makes any difference?

Setting the cache to local might give problem, as it is essentially doubling the required space for xbmctorrent.

Quick update, I am able to finish playing a movie from the start till the end without problem on my Rpi.

Looks like our member also able to play the movie without problem but on his Android. So that doesn't look to be OS problem.

I am on Unifi 10M as well.

Gonna get the raspberry after I return from training. Anyone got playing issues with Genesis this past week? Been having slow and intermittent streaming.

Apart from Genesis and ol mashup. Any other recommendations for movie n series channels?

hello Guys,

I just purchased Rpi2 B with 1GB RAM (the latest one). I have configured (openElec) and it's up and running. My concern here is the RAM, I only see 700MB and not 1GB is this normal?

Can anyone please advice what can I do?

I also need some help in tweaking the KODI - Resolution, Date/time (always out), mouse pointer is big and cannot scroll and others then you can help out.

Greatly appreciate for your help.

cheers
Raj

A portion of the RAM are allocated to the GPU. Default for Rpi2 is 256 MB if I'm not mistaken.
Check for the setting of 'gpu_mem' in file /flash/config.txt
