I think he uses IR Blaster to change channel. So you change channel on one device, the rest of devices will have that same channel

Hi paskal
how do u use external scraper?
Need to store movie info into movie folder
thanks
*
sorry for the late reply.
just install the program, point the settings to the media folder and you can start scraping. oversimplification, but it's as easy as that.
tho make sure to put each movie into separate folders. the scraper will construct all the necessary info file and images inside the folder.

how to integrade the astro into xbmc ?

is it only work with astro iptv ?

but im using the normal astro with cable

pls share info regarding this feature  notworthy.gif

Short version, you need:
A video capture card.
A HDCP stripper if you want to capture in HD via HDMI.
An IR Blaster to change channels on the STB (ie decoder).
Software/plugins to handle everything.

Long version:
At the moment, I use Hauppauge Colossus to capture the Astro feed via HDMI. I also have Hauppauge HD-PVR2 to capture feed from HyppTV. Both are similar video capture cards. The only difference is the Colossus is an internal PCIe card while the HD-PVR2 is an external USB box. The HDMI cable from the decoders go thru a HDCP stripper box first (just a normal HDMI switch with HDCP strip function), then into video capture capture card. Thats the hardware side.

On the software side, there are several options you can go with.

1. If you just want to feed Astro into XBMC then you can use the Hauppauge WinTV app bundled with the Colossus/HD-PVR2 with the XBMC IPTVSimple PVR client.
2. If you want PVR functionality on XBMC then you can use NextPVR instead of WinTV.
3. If you want to have PVR function AND stream over the internet, ie watch Astro anywhere you want on any devices, without the limitations imposed by Astro-on-the-Go, then you can use WinTV + DVBLink.

Example:

FYI this video was done before Astro-on-the-Go is available.

You can also do this:

I can stream Astro to any devices that supports DLNA. Some devices won't work without proper codec.

The beauty of this system:

1. It'll work with any TV services that uses a decoder box ie set top box
2. You're not using content from questionable source.
3. It's more reliable, no more worries about feed is offline.
4. It's HD quality with 5.1 audio.

QUOTE(arslow @ Aug 8 2014, 05:34 PM)
Cool! looked thru your other Live TV videos too. Alas, I'll have to get extra hardware to do this, i was thinking we have got to a point where an addon is enough tongue.gif
yeah, have used simple IPTV with the various xml shared across the net, but what I was thinking is what you've been doing with your Ouya!!  drool.gif How much did your dvblink hardware cost you? You still need the HDCP stripper right? and maybe something else too? hmm.gif
*
Well if you just want to get Astro into XBMC then you don't really need DVBLink. DVBLink is a software suite that allows you to manage TV source feeds and distribute it to multiple devices. I use it because 2 years ago it is the only way get TV feed from the Astro decoder into Windows Media Center using Hauppauge HD-PVR1 capture box. Now I use it to manage multiple TV feeds (Astro, HyppTV, etc) and stream it to mobile devices, ie my own private Astro-on-the-Go.

Hardware costs:
Hauppauge HD-PVR2 - USD149.99 from Amazon. They can ship this to Malaysia now.
HDCP Stripper - Around USD20-30 on eBay. They're really HDMI switches with HDCP strip function, usually not advertised as such.

Yup uses IR blaster to change channel. The number of channels you can watch simultaneously is limited to the number of decoder box you have.

That's expected yet good news.. Google better not screw the android box up cuz there are a lot of people who are interested in it. Hope they can beat the huge welcome the Nexus 10 and Chromecast brought.

Third time charm perhaps?

As long as they keep it open and app-compatible with mobile then it should do ok, if not better.

One of the PITA thing about Google TV is the apps is not compatible with other Android devices.

Yup. Though I think their target market are folks who are interested in the Raspberry Pi but aren't geeky/techy enough to bother with flashing & whatnot. I love the part where they included a 1TB hard disk that works as advertised and the minimalistic UI.

Raspberry Pi is a great device and cheap for xbmc.
only issue is when u have thousand if movies, it will take forever to load.

for those who looking for device that run xbmc with no problem, mini desktop pc will be the best option. ie:Acer Revo L

there are few movie scraping software outside...the one im using is MediaElch ( in case xbmc didnt scrape movie info property).
MediaElch will scrape movie info and save in to movie folder.

xbmc scraping is still the best and the most automated one.
just add movie folder, set which scraper to use, and let it run.

to be safe, just export video info to its individual folder.
by doing so i can bring my HD to any pc and play with xbmc without rescraping the movie info.
all 2000++ info will be there wherever i go.

search for 4 port pci sata card, or 4 port pci-e sata card. pci-e should be a bit faster (20% better throughput) compared to pci, at ~3 times the price.
i got mine from aliexpress for RM30-ish (pci based). pci-e would set you back around RM100 shipped.

i've tried a couple of them, different port numbers, both pci and pci-e. get those with chips from marvell or silicone image. stay away from jmicron or VIA based cards. for pci, search for SIL3114 based cards. pci-e can't remember the exact chip, but also go with chips from sil (silicone image).
never had any data corruption issue with them silicone image or marvell based cards, even with heavy data transfer and all ports used.

i'm running 16 hdds from a single 560w true power silverstone PSU. buy a true power PSU that can supply the rated power continuously, and stay away from them cheap PSU costing under RM100. there's a site that tests PSU for their actual performance and max continuous power, till the breaking point. can't remember the site name.

a 3.5" hdd is measured to take ~6W of power. so if you don't use a 120W 8-core amd fx cpu and 120w ati radeons for your htpc, even a 420w true power psu will run all 10 hdds no problem.

Maybe your xbmc installation somehow got corrupt as its supposed to perform quite smoothly on windows and your hardware is more than sufficient (Try clean uninstall & reinstall?). As for buffering, you using Ethernet or WIFI? Also depending on the url you are streaming from, you might want to try streaming just 720P and below, cuz some streaming urls like "beststreams", "Gorrillavids", "nowvideo" etc, they serve out media much better and faster.
