guys, i am noob here, wanna ask, best add ons for viewing HKTV and TVB drama? live stream or not does not matter, thanks

I am a 'Banana' , so forgive me for not being a fan of HK Dramas. But I have come across this addon 'AzDrama' , don't know if selection is good or not. You could check it out, but I warn you the quality is very bad.

yeah i did, found it, but have error when tried to install it.

keep in mind kodi is primarily an english based app.

the vast majority of addons are for english with some european language contents.

there are very few addons for asian stuff. azdrama is yr best bet but is poor.

there are others like dramago for korean but these essentially draw on youtube videos, might as well go direct youtube.



as a matter of fact, hk-canto stuff is rare from online sources. becos cantonese is not popular worldwide. mandarin is, with a far larger audience. developers will not spend time to do stuff for a language few people watch.

there are chinese apps (not kodi) that offer some hk/canto suff content most are dubbed in mandarin too.

yr best bet on canto stuff is not kodi but other iptv apps incl paid ones that offer various live tv channels incl hk/canto.

and that is why astro's wah lai toi in malaysia can survive.

Yup... Since Beta.

Works but initial testing of a few channels.... Was expecting more true HD... It's ahem, so no complaints.

Which kodi distro are you guys using for your rpi?

I am using osmc.tv for my rpi2 and it will automatically update itself. Isengard is not out yet for osmc but when it is available, I don't have to download the image again etc.

I have tried openelec too, but osmc is more responsive in UI interaction.

Im on openlec. Openlec ver 6.0 going to release soon and yet to release isengard version image. Therefore i couldnt update but my pc version is upgrades to isengard.

very new to setup box/android tv, mi box etc. scene

any recommendation where should I buy/start with?

I see like the Mi Box quite affordable but its in chinese language and i cant read it

I plan to watch latest tv series like Game of Thrones, Walking Dead etc.

can it watch HK tvb drama as well? this is for my parents especially my mom.

PS: does it stream in HD too?

I see some in garage sales selling, some mention need "subscription" to watch? I thought it streams content. Sorry very new in setup box scene.

Just something to share, though the controller only works with the Windows version.
Don't think Linux supports it yet.
