XBMC users here are encourage to share the modded set-up if any rclxms.gif the system, settings, addons, skins, related news about XBMC, your fav streaming server that lagless to 720p or 1080p drool.gif Just to remind, some addons are sensitive in term that might violated the copyright or piracy related or pornographic contents, it is discourage to be discussed openly, make it clean possible.

Quoted from XBMC in Google+
QUOTE
THE community for XBMC talk on Google+. If you use the following addons to get "free" content, you are pirating media: Iceflims 1Channel Navi-X We highly recommend avoiding the use of those addons or talking about them in this community. If you continue to use them, the copyright owners may sue you and may win. This is the only warning we can give. Furthermore, XBMCHub, the provider of these addons that may result in your getting sued, has nothing to do with XBMC or the XBMC community. If they get you sued for $100,000 per piece of pirated content, remember who to be angry at.

Other than that, unknown source of addons could bring instability to our system.

There is a company which has been mark as GPL violators by XBMC due to distribution of source code.
QUOTE
The following is a list of organizations that, to the best of XBMC’s knowledge, have released versions of XBMC without the source code required by the GPL v2.0. As we are much more interested in opening up code than taking any kind of legal action, we have decided to follow the lead of FFMPEG and others by merely listing these organizations.

But what I see this company produced nice setup boxes too

Thanks for the tutorial. My pi still naked, no box. Was using Pi mainly for AzDrama. And my pi is now sort of Cold Storage. Will heat it up with the guide.

I try playing some Full HD via my NAS storage is working good. But since I have a Dune, i don't really use pi for downloaded movies.

We 8mbps and 4mbps users, sometime having problem watching movies. Not to mention about 2mbps. But generally here is the minimum speed needed to stream

Here's the link http://hometheater.about.com/od/internetho...etflix-Vudu.htm and https://help.netflix.com/en/node/306 even it is about netflix but it applies to all as well, I believe.

Another thing is the source server, mostly I'll pick the '180upload' as it never failed me in getting the smooth HD streaming all the while biggrin.gif I don't mind entering the captcha for that.

Thanks for the info. Netflix streaming is ok even though the quality drops once and a while, but stil watchable.
180upload? I will try that. Tend not choose that coz lazy to type in the words. Hehehehe.

XBMC without add-ons is consider incomplete, we need add-ons to make the entertainment more colorful. Some of the popular add-ons could be find from:
XBMChub http://www.xbmchub.com/
Mash Up http://www.mashupxbmc.com/
Super Repo http://superrepo.org/
Xunity http://www.xunitytalk.com/forum.php

There are many out there, I believe but mostly I am using the 3 above especially the first 2. However there are many other related to what we have currently, in order to that maybe we can gather some infos of our tiny powerful XBMC such as:-

XBMC version : Frodo 12.3
Video addons : 1Channel, Icefilm and Mash Up  thumbup.gif

great to have a thread like this. thumbup.gif

i hv only had xbmc for a couple of months - on android and pc.

as a new user, one thing i find frustrating about xbmc is unless you have prior knowledge, you do not know which addon is in which zip file or repo! i had reinstalled xbmc on a couple of ocassions and struggled to find what is where. of course, now i know better...

yes, xbmchub and mashup are best, covers most addons.
and yes too, 1 channel, icefilms and mashup are the best there is.
i also use istream and iwo (i watch online) which are found in xunity's "the one" repo.
within mashup, my fav is i-live for live tv stations (not on by default, need to click it on within mashup settings).

for links, i find movreel most reliable.

about chinese addons (now, i can't remember if they are found in superrepo??), i had tried some of them like pps, kankan, youku - all seem pretty useless, dun work. azdrama works but selection is very limited. is this the same experience for others?

for chinese stuff, i stay away from xbmc, rely on the android's native app which is quite good.

I'll give mashup the best so far, the list is quite extended especially the HD one. 2nd I'll go for Icefilm. 1Channel will be the last option. I am a family man, I've to monitor my kids what they are going to watch as at most the movies all uncut version, even for some animes not suitable for kids to watch it. Yes, I agree that navigating forth and back in XBMC is quite confusing, the back not always return us to where the menu we intended to go.
