During the late 60s, Kok's Dental in Pudu was run by a REGISTERED
bald-headed dentist, who probably learned his trade in the back lanes there.

He was the original owner, and ''Kok'' is carried on to this day from his namesake.
My mum, being illiterate, took me to him whenever I had a toothache.

Didn't even know how to give lidocaine injections, extremely painful
whenever he injected it into my gums.

Didn't know how to extract teeth either.

When he extracted my lower first left molar, he yanked with such force
that I yelled at the top of my voice and cried nonstop.

Screwed up my teeth, never bridged that gap back, with the result
that the canine to the right of it became inclined.
My office manager said he broke his front upper canine in half too. His
uncle, a qualified dentist, had to perform surgery to extract it.
The idiot migrated to Australia later with all the riches he conned from
all those poor illiterate people in Pudu.

Probably dead by now.

I had similar dental experience in my childhood - not this particular clinic though.

Scarred me for life re dentists
