I went to see Hesmael's CLinic in Kota Damansara as he treats quite variety of pets and I have seen him with parrots.

So he says it's most likely the pair is plucking/over grooming his feathers not himself. He recommended to split them if possible at to give food which is more rich with Omega Fatty oil like sunflower seeds

The erratic behaviors he thinks its most likely epilepsy and nothing much can be done to a lovebird. He recommeded to give Vitamin B supplements for birds which helps strengthening the nerves.

I bought the baby Magpie for Rm35.  And my Canary is white in colour, I bought it for RM100.  It's age is 2 years+.

The Magpie is young, the shop owner said still cannot differentiate the sex.  Do you know how to differentiate the sex for Magpie?

juztiny where did you bought it from? im interested..i went to Kooi lim birdshop..(the one at brickfields) charges about rm150 a bird..i keep alot of budgies, cockatiels, and a FIDS is a sun conure..but never song bird before..thats y i tought of trying..im sure its alot of fun.. here is the pics of my sun conure..he is 5 months old..its still green..

Somebody wanted to offer me a "jadi" Shama  with 7" tail at very reasonable price (below market price), because he (the owner) is not free to take care due to work commitment, he has 5 of them.  I could only take 1 from him. Tomorrow night  I will go and collect from him.  He was shocked to learn that I am a female that like song birds like Shama, Canary and Magpie.

hi, i only breed cockatiel as a hobby..but now is abit slow la..i'll post it up here if theres any stock..yeap..juztiny is right..just login into our forum..www.birdforum.com.my .my nick is azrul..(used to be freehander, until the forum crashes..haihs..) english budgies is hard to get a tame and young ones..it is better to start with a young one if u cant get a handfeed(tame) ones..i bought my conure from a fren in the MBF(malaysian bird forum) but i can tell you where to get english budgies and maybe i can help you choose a young one...or you can go to the shop and tell them that u want a young one..(but i dont recommend if u ask them, cos they shop ppl only want to make money..i pernah kena)   do PM me if you need help..good luck in finding a right bird for you..  

not really though..actually its all myth..it actually depending on individual bird it self..i heard of it too..but somehow this is hard to say..cos i used to have a bonded budgie..when the female died..the male is stil okay..the yellow one in the pic..thats when i started to tame him..
conure can talk..but they are not known for talking..they are very  very playfull..yeah sure..no problems..where do u live? im not sure about how much are they..but all i know they'll cost you above rm100 each.make sure u make some research about eng budgie too..

Haha...I got it for RM300 inclusive of 20" cage.  I think quite worth it.  Well..I would like to have all the above you mentioned, now also looking for a mata puteh,  someone from the bird forum is helping me to find one.  Mata puteh is very rare these days, not available in petshop.  Mann_kl's has a contact to get Sharma for you if you really wanted.

Actually...after I own a Magpie, Magpie's song variety is much more interesting than my German Roller Canary.  Hmm....can't wait to hear this Sharma sing, whether would it be better than my Magpie or not. 

I also have ordered a tamed baby Cockatiel.  Will be able to collect it by end of the month.  So far, my hubby still don't know I spent so much money on birds recently.  Trying to hide my birds from him.

This is the first time my budgies have chicks, I'd just bought the bird 2 months ago. I have no experience rearing chicks, so any helps and tips are welcome.

Can't wait to see them fly..... I hope they all survive...

so sad to hear the death of so many birds that are so dear to you..

could be some contagious bug that we might not aware of... watch out for any dead wild birds around your area...

could be the water they drink, the food you giving them.. but who knows..

wait a while and make a comeback with a fresh start...

Added on July 20, 2008, 5:09 pmI bought a very tame adult male blue rumped today. He gave me a shock of my life when he flew out of my house via back door and landed on my opposite house fence which has many cats. Phew..I got there on time to get him out otherwise I have to say goodbye to my $150.

If you want a baby cockatiel, call David at this # zero one six nine eight two nine six three eight.  He just called me yesterday that he has one baby that need hand-feeding.  Perhaps it is still available.

well..there several factors for tht...how old is your budgies...r they a pair coz females budgies can lay eggs without males..but infertile ones..food is another consideration...i breed gouldian and zebra finches..my main reason usually is young males tht 'inexpereice"...cheers
