I was at the pet shop in Great Eastern Mall yesterday. They are having reno sales. The tame lories were at 30% off. They were very tame, climbing all over my shoulder and back. I had hard time getting them out of my body.
Very tempting to buy one.

Hey, I was there too. I saw the sun conures there going at 30% off as well... although tame, wing feathers clipped, they cost RM2.5k each. Online people sell Rm500 to Rm600.... really big difference.

*
I didn't ask for the price. $2.5K is damn expensive. Lories are very noisy bird. I had one long time ago (red and blue) and it drowned in a pail while taking bath. I bought it at $80 then.

Yup...blue rumped parrot is a local parrot.

What sort of vitamins? Where can I get it?  Now I give them pellets and other types of seeds.  Only very little bit of sunflower seeds. They don't eat much yesterday, but today started to eat whatever is provided.
*
How much is this local parrot? Can it talk?

Just bought the Hanging Parrot (Serindit) this morning. The Blue Rumped showed aggression towards the new comer.

Added on July 20, 2008, 5:09 pmI bought a very tame adult male blue rumped today. He gave me a shock of my life when he flew out of my house via back door and landed on my opposite house fence which has many cats. Phew..I got there on time to get him out otherwise I have to say goodbye to my $150.

Nice blue crown on your new Blue Rump parrot.  So how's your young parrot react to the new one?
*
The old one kept on whistling when he saw the new blue rump. When the new one flew, the old one followed. But damn..... after the new one settled down, he attacked both the Serindit and the old Blue Rump. I had to keep them in separate cages. I thought I could have one happy family in one cage. sad.gif

Eclectus is amongst the most quietest big parrot. Just called a breeder, he quoted me $2K for a baby Eclectus. Tot of getting a big bird. Tanaus are very boring la.

Wow..now you have 3 blue rump parrots then?

I have a friend also owns a male blue rump parrot, he claimed that his parrot can talk "Gong He Fa Choy".  I don't know whether he bluffed me or not.
*
Yes I have 3 now. My wife and my daughter are quite fond of parrots, so I add a female to my collection. Hope they will mate.
The female is very fierce but she doesn't bite if caught hold of her. She is not eating any seeds, only water chest nuts at the moment.

You see how fierce and angry she is. mad.gif

I can now hand feed the 1st rump. I can also touch and hold him now.
I am planning to get an Amazon.
