QUOTE(Juztiny @ Aug 28 2008, 10:20 AM) Yesterday I bought another Pekin Robin male bird from Macau bird shop...now I have 2. nice collection juz, I planned to buy another Canary, the boss told me next few days will have some coming in. There are quite a numbers of Macaws in the shop. Selling for RM11k. They are tamed one. but my opinian not to keep canary, coz what i know not all canary sing, some you have to wait till a year or more, than only they will start to sing. not like pekin, they will sing straight away, especially when pekin heard the other pekin sing and they will respond to our magpie robin too. |

QUOTE(viviane90 @ Oct 8 2008, 09:20 AM) if those small bird like magpie, if they still a baby if i take it out and play with it would it fly away? my bf magpie is quite fierce how i can train it be more friendly? fear magpie?! do you where's your bf get that magpie?, normally wild caught magpie will be very fear, sometime even will ban the cage untill die. first, you have to cover up 80% of the cage with a cloth(bird shop selling) for few weeks , at the same time, try to hand feed some crickets to the magpie (twice a day, 3 to 5 each time). for the first few times defenitely it won't eat from your hand, but you have to keep on trying. after few weeks, try to place your magpie to a public area where noramlly can see the human movement, time to time it will calm down your magpie.( it'll takes few months, be patient) oh yeah, before i forget, magpie likes to bath daily. QUOTE(St0rmFury @ Oct 20 2008, 10:22 PM) from the picture, it seems like a Pacific Swallow (Hirundo Tahitica).Pacific Swallows eat insects, catching them during flight. To feast on swarming insects, they may join other birds like Swifts. But unlike Swifts that simply trawl the air with their mouths open, Swallows don't hunt on the wing. They perch and wait, then actually chase after individual prey and perform aerial acrobatics to catch them. Swallows also hunt at lower levels than Swifts. i think the only food you can feed it is cricket, try to hand feed 3 to 5 crickets twice a day (it might and it might not eat at all). no one keeping swallow coz it won't survive in captivity just like sunbirds. if it dies after few days, don't feel guilty. at least you have tried your best... |

QUOTE(ospe03 @ Oct 31 2008, 12:42 PM) They are migratory birds. A wild budgie has no trouble flying from selangor to terengganu.. But Malaysian budgies are not wild budgie.. they not as strong... anyway most budgies in Malaysia use local transportation to travel to terengganu. hi ospe, nice to see you here. how's your diamond doves? |

QUOTE(toda6866 @ Jun 2 2009, 08:35 AM) wow, u can even tell a bird from its eggs? nex time i take a pic of the birds, it does hav some yellow on the underside of body, topside brown respect bro! i certainly know nuts bout birds, i can only bird watch n listen to them sing - anybody can la.....hahha actually i'm still learning about our Asian Birds, sometime i even can reconized some common song birds by their sound and i do keep quite number of song birds at home too. Yellow Vented Bulbul aka Merbah Kapur like to build their nest arround 3 feet to 6 feet high plants, they usually don't build on the high tree. 2 to 3 eggs will lays but 2 only will hatched. if 3 hatched, they will kill the weakest one left only 2 to survive. and these are some of their pictures.. ![]() Added on June 2, 2009, 6:49 pm QUOTE(Juztiny @ Jun 2 2009, 01:02 PM) Now I only left with 1 budgie and 1 tanau parrot. QUOTE(rida.b @ Sep 28 2009, 08:59 PM) I've check with shop already n they said only hunting for this serindit bird required licensed. Anybody can confirm this? the lisence has been frozen. that shop is selling illegally too. serindit can't be trade unless the shop has a special permit. in Malaysia, protected birds are not allow to trap nor been keep and trade (unlees with special permit or license). u can try to lie to that shop keeper saying that your senrindit has been confiscated and told the Pegawai Perhilitan that you bought the bird from that bird shop. i am very sure the shop keeper will pening kepala... then u'll he lies to you just wanna make profit from you. ask me about wild life act 74/76, i know better. thanks. |
