Hi

Im interested in talking parrots. Could u suggest me not so cosy parrot
*
Most big parrots talk but not all will talk. African Greys are great talker but some won't talk. So there is no guarantee if you buy a parrot that will talk. Buying a parrot for talking purpose is a wrong reason to own one. Parrots whether they talk or not make good companion. They are very sociable and sensitive. They need lots of interaction. They are not meant to be caged nor chained to a stand for life. Parrots should be provided with lots of freedom to keep them happy.

sold all 7 tiel to someone coz wanna upgrade to CAG  sweat.gif
so jealous look at ur tiel  rolleyes.gif
*
Bro, there is no such thing like upgrade. Each species of parrots has its own personality and character. They are all intelligent birds. Budgies are no exception.
I have a CAG for more than 2 years. I bought 2 baby tiels 6 weeks ago and they are so adorable, smart and are very attached to us. I don't feel it is a down grade. I thought tiels do not require so much attention as CAG. That's why I bought 2. I was dead wrong. Both my tiels like to hangout on my shoulders giving a "heavy" burden. biggrin.gif

yeah....wrong word  notworthy.gif  what i mean by upgrade is from parrot that
not talking to talking bird notworthy.gif all of them have their own
characteristic, i still have budgies that whistling every morning biggrin.gif
my cag that can hello everytime i'm reach my porch  biggrin.gif
might consider to keep tiel again  sweat.gif
*
Actually male tiel can be trained to talk. African Greys are great talker but not all of them talk. Some prefer to mimic sound like my Grey.
Not all Hill Mynahs talk too. My friend has a few of them but only 1 talks. The rest like to mimic sound. Mine is a talker.

My tiel Audi goes hiking at 5 weeks old. Audi could be the youngest pet parrot to go hiking.

Peugeot- cockatiel goes hiking at 6 weeks old.

hmmm.... any specific guide on how to train this bird? both very scared of ppl.walk to the cage only, wanna fly here n there..

so envy u ppl can touch play with parrot....
she 24hours at home, so can train... any guide can read?

All my birdies are raised from young. That's why they are very tame. As for wild ones like your sis bought will take long time to tame.
Keep them in the living room where most of the activities take place. Spend time talking with them. It will take weeks for them to settle down. Taming them usually takes months.

Parrots are smart hookbills.
I have a female CB CAG since she's 3mths old till now, close to 3yrs old. Pretty fast in learning tricks or simple commend. Not noisy but super talkative. Only allows me or my wife to handle and no one else.
And my manja Too, also a female, only allows me and my mom to handle. Love scratches on head and neck. Noisy at times when attention is needed. Normal behaivou for Toos.
Some snap shots of them :

helloo.. wanna ask something.. my fren give me 1 20days cockatiel baby.. how can i handfeeding em?.. what food should i give?.. i really know nth about this bird.. hope some1 can help me.. thx.. smile.gif
*
Firstly, if you don't know how to handfeed, you shouldn't take the bird. The bird may die under your care. Currently, handfeeding formula for parrots is out of stock in whole Malaysia. The only option is to feed the chick with semi liquid baby food like Gerber. But I am not sure whether your chick will survive solely on it or not. Buy a 10ml syringe from pharmacy. Suck the food into the syringe and then squeeze the food slowly into the mouth until the crop is full. I would advise you to return the bird to your friend until the bird is fully weaned. Or you may buy other cereals. Google internet for handfeeding for more details.

Are you the same Anakin from MBF who ordered a harness?

The food consists of cooked variety of sprouted beans, sweet potatoes, potato, carrot and egg yolk.

Bro, you mixed your tamed tiels into this aviary as well? those budgies n tiels in this huge aviary is not tamed right? Found that they quite scared to ppl in the photo as almost all fly to hide aside in the corner. Nice aviary n pet birds u have there.

Oh yea, by the way, you built this aviary your own? (DIY) how much does it costs to you? Do you think if you add in some plants in pot is a good idea?
*
Yes, that's me. I have one more, actually keeping it as a spare for myself. I can sell it to you if you are still interested. Send me a PM.

The budgies and tiels are not tame. I keep them in the aviary for breeding purpose. I got the Indon contractors to build the aviary. It cost me RM2K, on the expensive side because I couldn't get anyone else to do the job. My budget was RM1K which he said the material itself already more than 1K. Anyway he did a very good job. The aviary was nicely built.

Parrots are plant destroyer. A dead tree with branches would be a better idea.
