yup. wad weed said is true. anyway if u mention 'white parrot' commonly people see as are cockatoos. but that in any case, cockatoos come in many different kinds. oh yea bro, that pic u uploaded's a congo. anyway if u looking for younger CAGs for a cheaper price but without proper documentation, there's this place in johor bahru with two greys currently. i would say they're about 1.5 year olds. however the price is rather tempting, approximately 1300-1500 per head.

Usually tame young African Grey is above RM2.5k, I heard someone bought young one at RM3.5k recently.

thats a very big investment lul
if you are not serious on buying go for cockatiel, its worth it
and if you are really into bird and know what sacrifice lies ahead, then buying a AG, AAG, or an Amazon would be your a problem to you.
Big or small, they are all your pride and joy tongue.gif

Hehe...Cockatiel is quite noisy to me....actually those big Parrots like Cockatoo/Macaw/AG/Amazon/Electus, are they as noisy as Cockatiel? Because every time I see in petshop those Cockatoo are pretty quiet.

eclectus are mostly display parrots. and usually kept in pairs.

cockatoos ARE noisy, so are macaws and greys. but personally, throughout my years of keeping, i still think macaws are intolerable haha. darn loud. cockatoos are demolishers, they can open locks easily by either 'opening' them literally or breaking em. greys on the other hand, proves to be the most tolerable ones around, just that they tend to be emo at times. so i would say every single kind of birds around have their own needs we need to cater to.

btw, juztiny, trust me. cockatiels are pretty much what we call 'beginner' level. if the noise is intolerable, believe me, you wouldn't wanna start on bigger birds! =)

Oh, thanks for sharing the knowledge on those big Parrots......hmm... Parrot doesn't suit me...I really admire their beauty and intelligent then.

Yesterday I bought another Pekin Robin male bird from Macau bird shop...now I have 2.

I planned to buy another Canary, the boss told me next few days will have some coming in. There are quite a numbers of Macaws in the shop. Selling for RM11k. They are tamed one.

nice collection juz, biggrin.gif  now your house must be full of bird melody......
but my opinian not to keep canary, coz what i know not all canary sing, some you have to wait till a year or more, than only they will start to sing. not like pekin, they will sing straight away, especially when pekin heard the other pekin sing and they will respond to our magpie robin too.

Today just heard my new Pekin Robin sing, so awful voice.... doh.gif Like a mini crow calling sound. Yucks!

Now in my house, the Canary, Bubul, Tanau and Cockatiel sing and whistling non-stop everyday. Pioneer Pekin didn't sing at all.

Aha! Now my new Pekin is singing nice melody already thumbup.gif ...phew sweat.gif ....I thought I had chosen a lousy singer. Can hear this clip how my Pekin and other birds sing at home. Really sound like a bird shop. Must reduce some of my birds collection, otherwise my busybody neighbour will complain again. Thinking of giving up my Budgies and Cockatiel.

Recently I bought another 2 new birds into my song bird collection. A canary and a Leafbird. I had sold my tamed Cockatiel...a bit sayang and tak sampai hati, hope he found a better owner than me.

My 2 new birds already started to sing, now my house is full of songbirds, sound nicer than a birdshop, more like a chai bird place.

I nvr had birds as pets before, but...

....Many birds fly to my garden and sing happily, its very nice to wake up listening to birds song...

one of the pair even nested 3 times in my indoor plant... 1st time not successful becos we park car next to the nested plant(its our car porch) then stray cats came n ate the chicks by jumping from car to the plant

2nd time, purposely have to move car away from the plant very troublesome, but luckily they managed to hatch into beautiful birds!

now its 3rd time, we repeat the same again n I took some pics to share (without disturbing them, i was sure the birds flew away to search for food only take pics quickly)

no birds will be harmed n i did not touch any part of the nest or even the plant...

Same like me, there are many wild birds in my new housing area, recently I noticed there is a bird nest built on my garden red palm tree, I saw the bird looks like mata puteh type.

I had fed up with keeping any pet birds, as I have a careless Indon maid, she always forgot to close back the cage after changing water most of the time, I had lost 5 birds because of that. Now, since my area have lots of wild birds, I just could listen to those birds sing.

Juztiny, I'm thinking that these birds (around ur house n mine) belong to where they are now.

we humans took up their wild habitat n build houses to stay, so they hav no choice but look for some plants nearby....

try to plant more trees, its the least we can do for them....

My house nearby has a small secondary hill jungle just behind 2 row of houses, even have a monkey come out to our house searching for food. doh.gif But I really enjoyed listening to those bird sings. And also enjoy bird-watching. I have seen a few rare species bulbul etc. There are 2 local mynar always disturb the monkey when it comes out, very funny watching them attacking the monkey. rolleyes.gif

Now I only left with 1 budgie and 1 tanau parrot. Sigh...will not keep other birds for the time being until this stupid maid 's contract terminate by next year March. sweat.gif Hopefully by end of this year I could get back my formal Indon maid who is very responsible to work for me again.

actually i'm still learning about our Asian Birds, sometime i even can reconized some common song birds by their sound and i do keep quite number of song birds at home too.
Yellow Vented Bulbul aka Merbah Kapur like to build their nest arround 3 feet to 6 feet high plants, they usually don't build on the high tree. 2 to 3 eggs will lays but 2 only will hatched. if 3 hatched, they will kill the weakest one left only 2 to survive.
and these are some of their pictures..

Yesterday found an injured bird in my garden. Its both legs could not stand, now sitting upside down and sleep upside down. Luckily it still have good appetite to eat fruit. Still nursing it, cannot put it in bird cage, as its legs still hurt, so I put it inside a hamster cage. Wonder what bird is this?

The colour looks a lot like a humming bird I think. I'm just guessing tho, not really expert in birds.

You should remove the wood shavings asap, pine/softwood shavings can bring harm as it contains aromatic phenols. Use shredded toilet paper or something similar.

I think you're right...it looks really like humming bird on the picture you provided. And I remember seeing such type of birds near my flowers.

I removed the wood shavings, and replace with shredded paper. Not sure its legs could be heal or not..if not I am afraid it would not survive long under captivity. I intend to set it free once its could balance itself.
