If you are no stranger to the SteelSeries brand, the word "Siberia" should ring a lot of bells inside your head. The V1 debuted around 2004, while the V2 came along during 2009 and finally we are here to see the newest refresh for the Siberia series of gaming headsets, the Siberia Elite. Is the Siberia Elite truly a state of the art headset like how SteelSeries claims? Lets find out.
WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

CONCLUSION
In my opinion, the Siberia Elite is an extremely well built headset with good audio quality compared to other gaming oriented headsets. But at the end of the day, it will still burn RM769 from that wallet of yours. When asked why I'd spend so much on this headset, I always answer, "Well does your headset glow every colour in the rainbow?" So, buying the Siberia Elite grants you a special bragging right that currently no other headsets can offer; basically, the thing is a hater magnet.

EDIT: Apparently the Siberia Elite has a lot of RMA issues overseas, but my contact told me the current RMA rate in Malaysia is 1/100 and they would do a 1 to 1 exchange with you if your Siberia Elite were to face any issues.

This would be the first thing you see upon finishing the installation process of the SteelSeries Engine 3 if you have your Siberia Elite already plugged in via USB.

From this screen, users can change the profile of your Siberia Elite with their self-edited configurations. More of that in the next screenshot.

Users can set up new configurations inside the SteelSeries Engine. Users are also able to take advantage of the auto-launch with program feature here.

The entire overview of the SteelSeries Engine 3. Users can configure Dolby surround options, noise cancelling and compression of the microphone and as well as configure their equalizer settings using pre-defined profiles or self-tune to their pleasure.

A plethora of different equalizer settings to suit every event.

Users can also configure the illumination settings of their headset here. There are 4 different settings to choose from. Personally I like using the audio volume trigger with my favourite cyan blue colour, or the color shift settings between a few different colours.

That pretty much sums up what the SteelSeries Engine 3 is about for the Siberia Elite. Personally some improvements I would like to see from SteelSeries is a shortcut key to enable profile shifting instead of the auto-launch. Another improvement they could make would be the stopping the welcome screen from constantly refreshing my device list even though I have not unplugged anything. Other than that, I would like to see a lot more color shift selections in the future, because that thing is freaking cool, just the lack of options is a big turn off.

I'm currently upgrading my audio setup.

At first I have my eyes on Siberia Elite, but after browsing through youtube, steelseries fb page and other overseas forum pages I have found out the problems on the headphone broke down issue after 1 or 2 months gave me a second thought.

And the broke down issues consist of:
1)Mic stop working
2)One side of the speaker stop working

Even overseas gamers have bad feedback about their customer services, and it only get worst when it comes to further country like us.

I'll have to wait for a month of so to get replies from the community before taking the risk of buying it...

Wow, wasn't aware of such issues. Been using the Elite for a month now and it's still working fine and hopefully continues to be that way.
I will reflect this issue to my contact.
Anyways, FYI SteelSeries Malaysia will do a direct 1 to 1 exchange if the product is still under warranty.

Cool, will be subscribing this post, awaits for any update =)

Btw, once you exchange a faulty product with warranty, will it not have a warranty on the replacement product?

And, where do you bought the headphones?

Hi, my contact had stated that out of the 100+ sold in Malaysia, there is only one report of a defective Siberia Elite.
Take it or leave it, I guess.
About the amount of times one could RMA, I'm not sure; but if your friendly shop owner wants to help you RMA the second time, nobody could stop that laugh.gif
