I'm driving a 5G Honda City and all four (4) of my tires are due for change on my next service.

I'm am still on the manufacturer's default 15" Continental tires and i was advised by the tire shop (which i frequent quite often) that i should switch to Bridgestone's Ecopia.

The advantages are that not only it gives a smoother driving experience as it's softer compared to my current Continental tires but it's also "supposedly" more fuel saving.

So, has anyone changed to the Ecopia or is usiing the Ecopia.

Any complaints or compliments?

I was quoted for RM255 each but if i opted to change all four (4) then the balancing and alignment fees will be free. On top of that, i'll be given a free touch 'n' go card with preloaded sum of RM30.00.

Good deal?

SERIOUS?! PM with the shop details, need to verify with them. If it's true, it's a total saving of RM400.00 laugh.gif

Don't mind travelling all the way there as well because i don't think the tolls and fuel would add up to RM400.00.

check manufacture date of tyres. Make sure not too old, 2013 is quite normal even 2012 (prefer second half) may still be acceptable but if like already 2010 then not acceptable

OH! the existing tyres can be traded in for money huh? I never knew that! I will check with my current tyre shop regarding this.

Maybe the cheaper price is attributed to the year in which the tyres were being manufactured, like you said. Will also take note of that.

Please take note that there's at least 3 types of Ecopia.. EP150, EP200, EP850. EP850 is more for SUV cars, EP150 and EP200 is more for passenger car.

EP150 is more for compact car, means the size is for smaller range
EP200 for bigger car, and EP200 genarally better than EP150 in all aspect, and is more expensive i believe.

I'm EP150 user here.. RM150 per piece at 165/65R14.

Agree with this! If you're looking for smaller sizes like 15', then PS3 is the best high performance tires (UHP class) while still very comfortable.
Second choice would be the GY F1-D5 which is the same performance category and slightly cheaper but a bit noisy, and directional pattern hence not as easy to rotate.

anyway, has anyone traded their tires in during their change cause @cfa28 mentioned it can be done.

if it can be done then at least it will take away some damage from the bill at the end of the day T___T

btw, any real comparison sheet between the EP 150 and the EP200 ?

the only thing i noticed from the website is the additional of 1.0% in terms of fuel saving for the EP200.

i don't have.. i write that statement only based on bridgestone's own advertising material lols.
anyway, logically should always go for EP200. i take EP150 because EP200 don't have the size i wanted.

EP200's main and direct competitor should be XM2, and maybe also yoko AE-01.

for continental, there's the EcoContact 5. never heard anyone talked about it on the forum before, dunno if got ppl actually use it. i think its available in malaysia cause i think i saw banner in one of the shop before..
