Guys,

I am new to the folding scene and i read through some of the notes in V2 and now V3.

I am on the big size and weigh 105 kg, i have used my bro's Dahon in the ride of silence with no issues.

Now i plan to get one my self for "mostly" the same reason some of you have.

1. Portability
2. Ease of use
3. For the wife to use but, since i am buying i get to pick tongue.gif
4. Itchy just to get one

I have narrowed down to the following :

1. Java Fit 22" 16S-D (From GW Cycle Boutique)
2. Java Mini Velo (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=591425014239724&set=a.591424960906396.1073741829.591173320931560&type=1&theater_

My question is, is there any guys here in Lowyat with my weight riding the above mentioned selection ?

I am looking at budget of around RM 2400.00

Seeking advice from some of the experts in this forum.

Buying for wife but setting your own weight as main criteria?   hmm.gif

Option 1 if your wife will be the "primary" rider and u just cycle occasionally over short distance.
if you're considering one for yourself, maybe a mtb or bigger size 24" foldie might be a better and safer option.

Hehehe....bro, well i have a KHS All Season 3000 - Fatboy Bike, but this is an extra ma...

Anyway, if pass my weight criteria sure, pass my wife, she only 51 kg....so no issues hehehe

Primary Rider is very subjective, most likely is me...

Though i need to ask, i thought the Velo would be better since no folding contraption so the frame would be stronger ?

Guys,

I thank you so much for the replies, after researching for a bit i settled for the KHS F20 T3F.

Mainly due to my concern on weight, so i took a chormoly frame body.

Here is my ride i just got fresh of the Container from Taiwan.

Picture a bit too big sorry, so i put spoiler.

•KHS F20-T3F
•Chromoly frame
•Microshift Shifter
•PowerTools Crank
•Shimano 105 – 27 speeds
•SRAM PG-950 11-26t (9S)
•52/42/30t CNC
•Rear soft-tail
•V-Brake
•Kenda 20”x1.35” 100psi tire
•11.9kgs

love your fatboy bike in the background. where do you normally ride your mtb?
*
Tq, last i rode it was on OCBC 2014, i got it a few days before the event.

Now i usually ride approximately 18 to 30 ++ km on road.

I just sold my primary MTB to get this foldie....

Dun have the balls to test it on off road and too sayang..... blink.gif

No longer young.....prefer to ride on road with mtb and sweat....doesn't need to be off road....much to old for the adrenaline tracks....

haaa.. finally i got access to post to this forum.. it's a validation issue ... no wonder i cant post anything here..

just got my ride last week from Rodalink Hartamas

Dahon Vigor P9 for myself and Tern Link D8 for my wife

the bikes runs awesome !!..

By the way, i am just curios with the tires i am running on.. on Dahon website.. it stated that vigor p9 is schwalbe marathon supreme but the bike is on Rotolo rubber... when i called back with Sri Hartamas Branch they said that every country have different specs of tire so in order to lower down the price of Dahon here in Malaysia the tire was downgrade to Rotolo instead Marathon.. is it true? or can it be accidentally swapped?

sharing you some shots of the ride

Hi jeisern
The group members are all from setia alam? Which route do you go normally?
*
Its a mix of foldies, mtbs, roadies and mix/match, ride from Setia Alam Sen Aik Shop up to KFC hill to Tesco, go downhill, turn back out Impian 6, go to the park, make a left to Setia City Mall, go across, reach school Pin Hwa, go up a Tangki, come back go back out and ride through Tai Pan to Eco and then to Tenby.

From Tenby go back to Setia Damain Hill, then back to Sen Aik.
