That is correct. Anything that says no region protection = region free.

You still need to get a VGA in adapter. Not sure if it comes bundled with the Microsoft's VGA cable.

1. Overheating is quite minor so far. Not a major issue.

2. Microsoft specifically states that you should not move the 360 with a disc in it. So, anyone who does is just looking for trouble on their own.

3. I think only DOA4 Extreme 2 is the most recent case. Haven't experienced it myself.

4. Fall updates seems to work well with all unmodded consoles. Modded consoles have been known to fail but too bad I guess, you modded it.

5. 3ROD seems to be the major problem with quite a number of people experiencing it. As judge said, get an Asian console (not modded) so that you can claim warranty if it does happen.

6. Tray jamming? Ehhh..ada kah? tongue.gif

Sg Wang or BB Plaza got a few electrical shops. Jst go and tell them you need to connect 2 RCA cables to one headphone jack. They should roughly know what you are talking about.

Shouldnt cost more than RM10 i think.

Yes, you can buy it in Singapore.

The Holiday Premium Pack is SGD699. It includes two wireless controllers and Dead or Alive 4 free game.

Dont mod the console then! Then you get warranty for three years. And if your supplier can't help you with the warranty, then buy from one who can.

No one talking about the PS3 hardware problems doesn't mean it does not exist.

3ROD is a problem, but the 3-years warranty should more than cover ur fears for now.

I believe all 3 years are from Microsoft, except that the first year, you can send it back to Beatz or Gamers hideout and they will do the exchange for you (with their personal stock) at no additional cost.

After the first year, Beatz and Gamer's wil still help you exchange it through Singapore but they will be charging you transportation and service fee.

I believe that is how it works. Alternatively, get yourself down to Singapore, buy it from them (giving you an original Singapore receipt), and if your console 3ROD, you jst need to get yourself down to Singapore and exchange it with Microsoft personally.

edit: Singapore should be selling Elite below RM1700 after conversion.

Premium with HDMI? Errr is it even released?

Last I remembered, the 360s that have HDMI are:

1. Elite
2. Halo edition (newer batch)

The white boxes does not have HDMI although there are news that MS is releasing them. But I doubt it is available here in Malaysia.

Unfortunately there is no news on the worldwide launch so hunting for it here will not be too fruitful.

And do you really want to have a US region box?

QUOTE(quiksilve @ Oct 30 2007, 11:16 AM)
For those buying new Xbox, my advise is please be ready, because many forummer who is xbox owners have encountered at some point in their console life that their beloved xbox was hit by 3rod eventually.

This can't be help because Microsoft design the xbox with this flaw.

Piece of advise is to have your xbox x-clamp removed or doing Nos modding which will cool your xbox gpu better and created better air flow for the hot air to be sucked out by the dual fans running at 12v.

True, 3ROD is a problem and X-Clamp is probably a good thing to do. But i believe it will void your warranty.. so for brand new owners with 3 years warranty, I am not sure if you want to go about that.

Then again, if ur buying a modded console, might as well then, you have no warranty anyway.
