QUOTE(crimsonhead @ Jul 31 2006, 07:28 PM) if i bought dell 2407WFP 24" or dell 2007WFP 20" widescreen,do i need to buy the Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable?how to check whether this 2 lcd got vga slot anot? since 360 VGA doesnt unlock 1680x1050 and 1920x1200 resolutions, thats mean i have to choose 1280x1024 resolution?? um sorry for asking noob questions I hooked up my Xbox360 to my Dell 2007WFP using the VGA cable. I just use either 1280x768 or 1360x768, they both look great and almost the same for me. For Dell 2407WFP, u wont need to buy the VGA cable as u can just hook up straight to the lcd's component input and use either 720p or 1080i.

QUOTE(yc_83 @ Sep 10 2006, 04:44 PM) i've just got my dell 2007wfp just would like to ask, which resolution i should go for my xbox 360 with the vga cable? 1360x768 works fine for me. If for some rare reason there's some screen tearing, then 1280x768 works fine too.

QUOTE(daidzz @ Sep 12 2006, 06:57 PM) I have the EXACT same monitor, dell 20" widescreen ultrasharp rite? well i knw that 1280x1024 widescreen format has more pixels n therefore a better resolution. i use that. i recommend it too, FcUk these DvD's that dont support widescreen. damn annoying to see a small box in the centre of a 20" widescreen lol! more pixels aren't necessarily better, esp when it's not in the correct ratio.

QUOTE(daidzz @ Sep 18 2006, 05:43 PM) the ratio is correct my friend. prior to 16:9 basic widescreen format. the ratio would b the same as the 13xxX7xx ratio except with more pixels. if ur an elec genius u should knw that. 1280x1024 = 5:4 != 16:9 Nuff said, no need to be an elec genius to figure that out. QUOTE(blurd @ Feb 11 2007, 08:00 PM) Hi all, to the thread strater good work in putting up this thread it's really helpful. Anyway, I have 1 question, kinda noob actually. planining to get xbox360.. I am not sure to buy a lcd 20" or 22" cause i read around some people say the text on 20' are smaller and harder to read. Hopefully you guys can help me here abit. Thanxs yall. smaller if u use with PC at native res of 1680x1050 but no problems using with xbox360 since by default it's at 1280x720 only.

QUOTE(verced @ Feb 12 2007, 03:01 AM) For some reason, 720p and 1080p does not change the size of text for me. I'm on a 24 incher. yup, like i said before, it's bcoz the Xbox360 is 720p by default. So it's upscaled to 1080p most of the time. Hafta wait till games that natively supports 1080p such as the upcoming Virtua Tennis 3 to see the difference.

QUOTE(verced @ Feb 12 2007, 12:02 PM) What I meant was, you can't select 1080i if you're connected via VGA. All I see is the resolution, 1920x1080, 1280x720, etc. So if I were to select 1920, does that mean I'm on 1080p? yup, you're on 1080p.

There's a cheaper Samsung 1080p LCD, it's the N8 series. The 40" retails for RM8999.
