he's asking what region la bro, not what revision. smile.gif

we'll the first thing you could do is, do you need to play it using step down transformer or not? because if it is, probably your xbox is japan set or US set. but, do you buy seperate power brick? if the seller gave you the power brick and you still need the transformer, then your console is either japan or us.

the second is, you could try non-region free game (assuming your console is non-modded, because sometimes pirated cd says region free while they're not). and load your xbox. if it can play, then you know the region already. if it can, try another game.

it's quite troublesome. why dont you just ask the seller. i dont know if other people knows the easy way. notworthy.gif

hi ya guys, newbie here planning to get a console.is the price quoted on the 1st page is some where near the latest price range??

also where to buy??i mean there is practically thousands of stores.you know from the ones doing the ahem* ones to the ones that look really classy and expensive.so where to go??is there some place like an apple store ka, or sony center type shop for xbox??

my other question is quite similar like some one posted above, i rarely play online and safe to assume just will be playing offline, so if i were to buy the slim ver wch has a 20gb+/- hdd space, would it be enough for saving games, cache when loading or any other game related operations(playing/saving/etc etc)?

last but not least whats the durability of 360??si mean we all should take good care of it and all(i.e we follow the safe guides, keep it clean ventilation etc) but lets say i play about 9-10 hrs a day will it have a shorter life span etc?

forgot to add this, about the game regions, so lets say ive have little knowledge on it, so how be on the safe side. i.e wch ver of console to buy and wch game region would be safe(maybe about 80% success rate in playing the games bought in store here in malaysia)and easily found here?

also the wiki link posted on the first page about game regions should edited since wiki have deleted the article.

1- i can recommend you a guy. try to go garage sale section for video games, and look for bernard. his thread title is gamers solution. he's really a friendly seller. last week i asked him, price range from rm800(no hard disk) to RM1100 (with hard drive).

2-well, like i said, his shop is located at pertama complex, second floor. but there are also reputable game seller like gamers hideout. try to look at garage sale section.they are all friendly seller. i cant really recommend where to get other than the seller in garage sale as they tend to cheat you.

3- there's no 20gb xbox slim. only 250GB and 4GB. if you're not going to download DLC, 4GB is enough. you can always use your thumb drive as secondary storage.

4-the latest revision (jasper) is more reliable and not easily affect by RRoD problem. as long as you take a good care of it and keep it well ventilated, should be no problem.

5-get NTSC-J console.most of games here are NTSC-J region, so you wont have a problem to find the games locally.

and dont forget to support originals.

it's a codename for xbox motherboard revision. the first revision was xenon (which is prone to faulty) and the latest revisions are Jasper (non-slim xbox) and Valhalla (Slim xbox). dont worry, as most of xbox in the market right now are jasper and valhalla since both of it are still in production. there's no more xenon, zephyr, nor falcon (unless you buy preowned/second-hand from someone).

i think this info on wiki below is enough for you to understand,

xbox motherboard revision
