from my knowledge no.. for legit Xbox console it can only run on certain hdd size.. like 250gb and 350gb... and must be install in the HDD port. even if u have a bigger capacity hdd and fitted in the xbox hdd casing it will not work... on previous models like zephyr n falcon are more likely so to hv heat issue.. but well taken care n lightly use zephyr/falcon still survives though..
