Last month I requested 30% increase in my CL as my children tuition fees were to be paid with their Supp VI. Then I wanted to buy a watch where the dealer accepts AMEX plus 0% Installment Plan for Maybank CC. I know I have use up close to my credit limit. So I called Maybank Premier Card CS to check my available credit limit and was told I already overshot my temporary increase in CL by RM10K (and yet Maybank approved my transactions, I really like Maybank).
The watch cost me around RM30K. So, if I want to use my MBB AMEX Reserve, I need at least RM40K increase in CL after taking into consideration of the RM10K I have overshot.
The other option is go bank in immediately RM40K but my funds were stuck.
It was after 12pm when I spoke to MBB CS and I wanted to get the watch before 5pm. Told CS my predicament and requested for RM50K increase in CL. CS said she will inform the relevant department and that I need the temporary CL increase urgently.
And if I want to go with 0% Installment Plan using my AMEX Reserve, I have to bank in more than RM40K into my CC account immediately so that I have available credit limit of RM30K below my normal assigned CL.
But when I reach my watch dealer before 5pm, still no call from MBB, so use my UOB credit card instead for 0% Installment Plan.
At around 6.30pm, MBB called me to inform me they have approved my request, but I told them I already bought the watch. And the lady actually apologized for the delay!!! I should be thanking them for approving the temp increase in CL in just a few hours time. Pretty efficient if you ask me.

Agree with you, Maybank service is fast. Yesterday 10pm, I also called to check my credit limit and it was overlimit. I asked the CS staff to submit my request, by this afternoon, temporary credit limit was adjusted and I can proceed with my transaction.
