Hello all. I'm deciding between the 2card Premier and the Krisflyer Amex. My interests is on the miles collection.

So, in terms of the mileage accrual, the benefits of the Krisflyer Amex are:

- Earn 2 KrisFlyer miles for every RM2 spent when you purchase tickets online at www.singaporeair.com. Valid for flights originating from Malaysia only. Effective 1 May 2010.
- Use your Card for all your purchases and earn 1 KrisFlyer mile on every RM2 spent
- Double up your miles with minimum spend of RM60,000 within twelve (12) months Card anniversary year effective from 1 January 2015 onwards.

Given that the annual spending requirement for the Premier is RM80K, and the miles coversion rate of almost RM1 to 1 mile, how do you all view the Krisflyer Amex to earn 1 mile per RM1 for annual spending above RM60K?

For the RM20K difference, I note that the most useful advantage of the Premier might be the priority pass lounge access, but the value proposition doesn't seem to be great enough to select Premier over Krisflyer based on the analysis above alone (I'm interested in Krisflyer more then Enrich Miles fyi). Would like to hear your feedback in case I miss out some important points.

Thanks.

Hello all. Just want a quick confirmation. Does using Amex reserve at shell station gives 5x TP too ? There is no exclusion mentioned in the mbb website so presumed TP will be given. Thanks.

That's great! Just gotten the card as advised by u all previously. Now trying to get a hang of it smile.gif

Next in line will be to do the car insurance. Thinking of motortakaful. Will this be 5 TP or 2 TP because it says insurance providers only get 2 TP. However, when I just searched the Google, some reported 5 TP. Am still reading it so if u could clarify that too, that will be deeply appreciated. Thanks bro

My Maybank 2 Premiere annual fee just hit at the end of August, after using it for 15 months. Strange how Maybank calculates their annual fee, fortunately I got the automatic reversal so will be keeping this for another year.
*
Can you share more on the "strange" calculation please?

Don't think you can do anything, have to let it go on auto-renewal i.e. board rate. Else will affect your card.

If you manage to get away pls let us know.

I think anwa's card will at best valid for max 1 year only from month of issuance. Will mbb auto send a new card?

anyone with M2Premier have HSBC Premier card as well ?

in terms of earned points/charges which is better ?
*
HSBC premier does give better redemption rate at 3,000 points per 1000 miles if u spend at the right place that earns 5x points, that means RM600 for 1000 miles. Some spending earns high than 5x. However, please note the cap per month. Read the promotion programme for more info.

Thanks, was wondering more on item redemption / discounts.

Tempted with HSBC Premier due to the worldwide banking, and they've revised to RM200k in account to be eligible with no spend/fee requirement ... if I recall correctly it used to be 800k ? Also was quoted FD 4.45% for 6 months

But perks don't include all PPL (Only KLIA, Changi & HK) or permanent dining discount (MBB 50% at Shangri La KL) ... although haven't explored too deeply yet

HSBC premier cc comes free with the account. No annual fee.

No leh, SG card benefit all not very good.

Intend to cancel all my credit card in Singapore and use Maybank premier card in sg to earn 5x TP
*
U want to share your analysis because I certainly agree that there are cards in SG that can earn better mileage but depends on your spending pattern ... Eg online vs offline vs dining etc.

For SG credit card i only own 3 UOB credit card.

1. UOB PRVI Miles Visa Card
As for now i believe this is one of the best air miles card in SG.
However, its only earn me 1.4 miles for S$1 local spending and 2.4 miles for S$1 overseas spending
After calculation,
1 miles = RM2.143 for local SG spending
1 miles = RM1.25 for overseas spending

Annual fees S$256.80 and have to call for waiver, success rates unknown as this card is still consider new.
No priority pass provided and do not grand you any airport lounge access.

Both local and overseas earn rates are worst than Malaysia 2 card premier Amex reserve.

2. UOB Privilege Banking Visa Infinite
1.2 miles for S$1 local spending
1.6 miles for S$1 overseas spending

This card seriously is a joke, conversion rates are even worst than it own UOB PRVI Miles Visa card.

Annual fees is S$1926 and have to call for waiver
What surprised me is this card does not come with priority pass.

3. UOB ONE CARD

Good rebate card. currently use this card for bill payment card in SG. Most likely this will be the only card i will keep next year.
As air miles conversion, i still believe no any SG credit card come close to Maybank premier 2 card at this moment.

Moreover, miles conversion for UOB card will inccur S$25 admin fees, unless i convert under Privilege Banking Visa Infinite then is FREE while Maybank provide FREE conversion from TP to air miles for every customer include mass market customer.

Bro. Don't limit yourself to only UOB. Start by checking out DBS suites of cards. U will find some interesting earning cards especially now there are many ongoing promotions to allow u to earn even more miles, not withstanding the sign up bonuses. Some cards can earn about 3 to 4 miles per dollar. So effectively that's like RM1 or lesser to a mile (in relative).

Agree on the conversion fees, DBS' conversion is different from uob. U pay one time annual fee and u can convert unlimited times as and when u like it.

study the cards because u may save yourself from the currency exchange fees given the same earning ratios, if not better. YMMV

Oh I just looked closely again cuz I received the tax invoice. It indeed said "total amount paid inclusive GST". I thought it's asking me to pay ... Thanks for your clarification smile.gif
