For those who are interested to pledge FD;

Kindly be informed that, you may apply Maybank Credit Cards by pledging Fixed Deposits.
If you have already have an existing Fixed Deposit, you may send the Credit Card application together with the Fixed Deposit certificate and please attach a letter to indicate your interest to apply Maybank Credit Card by pledging Fixed Deposit and the amount that you would like to pledge. Once the application received and process, the processing unit would send out a letter to inform whether they agreeable to the amount that you are interested or they would suggest a new amount to pledge.

If you do not have any existing Fixed Deposit, you may send the Credit Card application with a letter to indicate your interest to apply Maybank Credit Card via pledging Fixed Deposit. Once the application received and process, the processing unit would send out a letter to inform the amount of Fixed Deposit that you need open at any Maybank branch in order to pledge with the credit cards.

However, the credit decisions are still made based on our Bank's credit assessment.

don't have so much money laa  rclxub.gif

errr.. there is no restriction on total cards I owned right? Although it's quite a lot, like 8 or 9...
*
No restriction but bank is all about risk, when you hold so many CC it also meant that risk is higher?

Just wonder if you hold any Maybank CC in one of your 8 / 9 cards?

Yes I do have Maybank2Cards Platinum, with a pathetic credit limit of 16k. Always need to pay advance to use it, more like a debit card to me

The rest of cards just low usage, stop using after hitting cash back allowance
*
This is weird, with your extensive use on Plat they should have granted you the Premier by pledging FD hmm.gif

Thanks for sharing, at least this card doesn't go into the useless category if MAS decided to 'revamp' Enrich

if you want a higher cl, i suggest you jump ahead and place the amount you desired in fd first. then offer to pledge that fd to get the card.

with all the information posted here i think it is easy to figure out what is the amount they normally required.

if you ask and wait, the branch will only follow what is stated in the letter. by then if you want a higher cl or willing to pledge more, branch will tell you that they are unable to advise.

unlikely, because when I submit my application, I attached with a 50k FD cert, 1 year ordinary. When I receive the offer letter its written 14k, so I do another FD to cater it.

I am not sure if I insist to pledge the 50k FD, what will happen through.

thanks for sharing, didn't knew they are so rigid with it.

likewise what i did was the waiting game, i wanted to pledge more at branch but the officer says she is not sure i am allowed to pledge more than what is stated in the letter and ask me to refer to the card processing unit instead.

as i do not have luxury of time i went ahead with amount in the letter, extra CL would be nice especially they offer 0% BT now wink.gif

and i was made to wait for an hour at mbb before anyone actually entertained me. everyone that came after me has been called up. despite me questioning why i was made to wait so long.

anyway when i think of the EM conversion and 50% dining. what the heck, it is all worth it lol

well at least with mbb there is still a guide or way to pledge via fd. try with pbb, will vomit blood. the cs at branch told me stamp duty is 0.5% of your requested CL.

how much you pledged?
*
i think this has been shared quite frequently by a few members.

if you are current M2K Gold/Plat holder, they will offer you a default 30k credit limit. You would have to pledge (30k - your current M2K CL) = RM X.

With the meaning of pledge, means you cannot withdraw this FD?
*
MBB will keep your FD cert, you cannot withdraw as long as your card is active.

In the event you run away or go missing, they use your FD to pay outstanding.

yes but technically 3 as m2c master or visa are useless.

obviously if you have 30k CL or near to it then it is worth the hassle to apply without fd?
