yeah it's the orginial Max Keyboard Black Translucent keycaps with ISO modifier, as well as 8 novelty keys and 2 additional non-standard length Spacebars. Retail in US is used to be 50 USD, now 40USD and somemore 10USD discount, so can get it from 30USD + shipping.. so.. yeahh....

btw, the keycaps are actually translucent, so on a backlit keyboard, it is almost* transparent..

Ah.... didn't know you selling MKB as well...  cry.gif Ordered from NTCT already, some more much expensive. cry.gif
Do you have shops I can visit?  hmm.gif
*
Hi wildwestgoh.. unfortunately, no... i'm a fresh grad, trying to earn a living thru this business. No rich parents = not much capital = not enuf money to rent physical store. Are you from Kuching as well? right now, i am promoting via lowyat and my wordpress blog, and doing sales almost exclusively via COD if possible.

doh.gif Sigh, saw your selling thread already too late, ordered from him already since last week.
Btw I'm ordering Filco Ninja TKL MX Brown, many suggest to get Brown for a starter, so a beginner like me should stick with Brown first. blush.gif
Next time, maybe got extra cash may add another keyboard... sweat.gif then sure look for you.
*
when i bought my first, tried blue n brown. brown almost linear, bump to me is almost non-existent.. but i'm a heavy typer so.. yeah..
Thanks thanks notworthy.gif

FYI, if u want try blue, just let me know.. you try doesnt mean you must buy... just make sure fingers clean cos just changed white PBTs... =P

If costar stabs is sticky after changing keycaps, pls check if the insert mounted properly. There's a front and back section one.
*
Thanks but yeah... i re-inserted properly.. learnt my lesson when switched the spacebar and flipped the inserts.. couldnt fit at all... this shift sticky only 2-3 days after change.. changed on monday, worked fine until about an hour ago where it started sticking... THanks again tho..

weilung too bad i have thrown old cherry pcb boards few days ago, i thought no ones will need such thing  lol. You need the pcb for putting cherry switches right?
*
yeahh.. preferable if got case, but if no case, will try and make one out of either wood or.... lego?... =D

QUOTE(0168257061 @ Mar 9 2014, 01:56 PM)
You can just buy those from taobao?
RMB2-2.5 per switch only.
*
Can buy, but if got ppl here wanna sell, don't need anymore, can buy from them ma.. save money (if cheaper), save greenhouse gas (transport nearer), and no need waste materials also..

QUOTE(noobandroid @ Mar 9 2014, 01:56 PM)
i have a barebone board of mx blue (no caps), embedded on a steel plate, interested?
*
barebone board? board originally from which kb standard (filco, rosewill, ducky) or non standard (CM QF TK, Corsair)? only mx blues available? already have mx blue board (the only switch i have atm, if fact) but interested if price is right? heh

from hpe, standard layout tkl mkb, steel plate is add on change from the usual plastic, gives the switch more stiffer feel when near bottom, i consider this board quite a keeper, but then i only have apair of hands and using it at home only,
*
Wow.. u modded the plate to a steel one? must not be cheap, then.. scared out of my budget already.. how much can u offer? on a tight budget here =[.. also, out of curiosity.. what happen to the cover? hands too itchy?

QUOTE(hmwgbworld @ Mar 9 2014, 02:07 PM)
Else  u can try to look for mx switch tester that is pre-assembled, dun remember how much it cost. should be less than 200.
However, the switch tester just a tool to differentiate switch type, long term usage still a diff story for ppl to like/dislike thou.
*
got... tried looking already.. QWERkeys one out of stock, MAX Keyboards one shipping is ridiculous, CM Storm one need bring in myself, official distributor dont/ cannot bring in. some more, those all 1 switch to test out only.. like u said, u press one switch, u dont really know you will like or not.. my plan is to provide at least 10-15 keys per switch type on a standard 104-key layout so ppl can test them out a bit... some more here in kuching, no HeavyArm Garage.. the only place to test mechanical is either at friend's house or PC Image, selling Razer Blackwidow. IMO, blackwidow MX Blues not a very good representation of Blues in general.. i dont know but i feel they're a bit lighter than usual? or maybe is razer's keycaps different..

Yes, the bwu feels a little lighter than my poker2. Haha, those shops just lame by claiming mech keyboard was expensive and no more ppl will buy after box opened thus not allowing ppl to test and no demo units.
*
Yeah.. exactly.. thats why i'm dreaming of opening a shop here with demo units of all types of MX Switches, priority right now to the 4 most common ones.. I feel here got market, that's why i'm trying to promote it to any1/every1... personally though, i don't agree with the "gaming" tag given to mkbs in general... it's gimmicky and takes away from the actual purpose of buying an mkb, the feel... hopefully my business goes well and i can promote mkb here and get more mech users.. =]

the original plate was fine, nothing happen, just i go hand itchy press order a steel plate for no reason, sent in so i had to use it laugh.gif

i actually can help you order tester switches abroad, not very expensive, has multiple switches in a row, so can do type test

blink.gif Seems like hand being itchy is a disease more contagious than SARS here...

anyway.. are u referring to the MAX Keyboards one? i would prefer the QWERkeys 6-switch one or CM Storm 6-switch one... but the thing is that all these only have 1 switch only... i don't mind getting it if the cost is cheap (If sell at retail directly converted USD > MYR) but once u factor in the shipping, becomes not worth it.. can u quote me a price for both the pcb and the tester kit? have to take into account pricing..

It's really tough to convince ppl for considering it by buying at RM300 price tag of a keyboard.  sweat.gif
And RM300 just a starter, I cant imagine how to convince ppl to step into custom keyboard lol. Perhaps a simple leds mod that most ppl/gamers favored.

A quick led mod:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

*
300? more like 350.. haha... but yeah.. is more to marketing/informing your customers already.... if u tell guy on the street to buy rm300 kb when got rm30 alternative, ppl think u crazy ask you go die.. but for those ppl who really into gaming/ use their keyboards, you tell them about the feel, let them try, and try take away that "gaming" tag, then they realise got alternative to those mushy rubber domes (no hate on Topre), and that there is such a thing as a premium keyboard.. cos i'm quite sure once u educate people about what's possible, those that are willing to spend don't mind spending more to get something of a higher quality... but not until custom kb territory la, obviously.. that one is enthusiast grade already... haha

sorry if this is spamming but....

QUOTE(dadudeneverabides @ Mar 9 2014, 02:40 PM)
Challenge is to first start off with any MKB. Then start using a good one like Filco. The biggest issue is when they don't even understand the quality that they are missing out on.
*
That's so true... like i said, it all comes down to education.. especially in small town like kuching, eat any simple roadside burger, they can say it's the BEST BURGER IN THE WORLD, but they never try burgers made in australia with 100% fresh aussie beef, or saying pizza hut pizza SUPER DUPER AWESOME when they never tried traditional handmade italian pizza in Naples.. it all comes down to letting customers know what is good, and what is REALLY good.. in niche market like this, customer education is super important..

i think is around usd 10+ for sampler, and maybe another 10+ for shipping, so less than a hundred should be able to be done

on the other hand, get a keypad and fit all the switches in, that should be fun for testers  wink.gif

user posted image
*
100 for tester?.. kinda steep.. and the keypad thing? yeahh.. aimed a Leopold numpad with modded switches, but the guys asking for 50USD excluding shipping so.... no wayy.. thats why now looking at building my own tester keyboard....

QUOTE(hooh888 @ Mar 9 2014, 02:43 PM)
That's what HeavyArm is doing, they have 4 keyboards there for testing if my recollection is correct, one for each of the common switches(blue, brown, red, and black).
*
yeah.. i know.. that's where i bought my first and current kb, Rosewill 9000... it's a good thing, having demo units like these.. good for the market, good for the mkb scene, good for customers and (hopefully) good for business.... but since now i dont have brick and mortar shop, just aiming to buy 2 or 3 more kb with browns and red/Black since red and black ALMOST similiar in feel... and when i have it, go around advertising appointments to test keyboards.. =]
