I have a question for all you G15 and Tarantula owners.....
I'm planning to buy either a G15 or a Tarantula but I don't game THAT often..... and even if I do, I'll use my Nostromo n52 for my gaming needs.... However.... I do work with alot of copy work and always need a solid keyboard.

I like the functionality of the G15's LCD.... but I'm also VERY partial to the tarantula's design.... that and the fact that I'm quite the Razer fan....2 Razer mouses, Mantis Speedmat and Razer Earphones tongue.gif.....

But probably the key deciding factor? The lights......

I need to be able to turn off the lights completely as the keyboard will be placed in my bedroom and when I sleep at night..... the last thing I need is a bright blue light shining....... I even have to turn off my Razer DeathAdder's lights before I go to bed........

So my question is, can both keyboards turn off their lights? Thanks in advance for answering my VERY long winded question......

Ooooooooh. +1 for the G15 for me already.

Can the lights be configured via a macro?

I'm not concerned about the lights (more like lack of), but I AM concern about typing..... I read some reviews that say the G15 is pretty good at typing, but Razer is VERY good at it because of the anti-ghosting thing...... can anyone confirm this?

I thought of the Razer Pro|Solutions Pro|Type keyboard, but if you see the condition of my what was once keyboard...... you can see why I want something in a dark color......

What? From 15 G-Keys to 6?

I'm sticking to the old G15!

I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but we have 3 Reclusa's here in my office.
I used it, but swapped back to an old IBM keyboard tongue.gif

I like the touch, but it just felt too d**n big..... The macro's were nice, but hard to reach the other ones. Oh, and I really find that big piece of plastic at the top a waste of space.

Besides..... I like the old skool clakety clack sound when I type rclxms.gif

I now switch to Razer for my mouse.... mainly because of the looks thing. But for keyboard, I think the new G15 will win out this time.....
Mainly because of the whole click feel like I mentioned before and I think I might have more use for a LCD then a "Battledock"

But for my mouses? Yeah...... I'm now a Razer guy.

Used it in the office, but didn't like it. I actually went back to an old PS/2 IBM keyboard! But of course, this is a working environment, and not a gaming one, so I'll take tactile feed-back over macro keys any day!

How come no one talks about the Belkin Nostromo SpeedPad N52?

I have one and it's EXCELLENT for FPS games.

Also, for WoW players, with a switch of a button, I can cast spells and abilities, then click back for movement.... awesome.....

Yeah, but I'm disappointed they took out the wheel for the volume...... Was kind of looking forwards to that.....

But luckily it has a smaller footprint so I can fit it on my already oh-so-cluttered desk.

HOWEVER....... I don't think I'll be using it for gaming...... I have my Nostromo n52 for that. I'm more interested in the Macros and the LCD screen for my photoshop (googling for g15 photoshop mods now!) and other work......

Oh, and WoW seems to work amazing on the G15, which is what I'm looking forwards to as well.

Wah....... The Razer BlackTriX keyboard......... sleek black with a 2.5" LCD Screen, 4x USB 2.0 and Firewire ports, 12 User customizable macros (with 3 shift functions, making it 36 macros), and dedicated 1MB of memory!

I would gladly pay RM500 for that!

At the moment, my 7950GT is holding up fine (Of course, having a X2 4200 doesn't hurt tongue.gif) so the more important upgrade would be a new keyboard.....
Heck, if it can run Bioshock on High settings, that's good enough for me tongue.gif
