This is a great show. Gist of the story portrays what is going in today's world. Holy War, race discrimination and indifference. Most people would say behind our different skin color, our blood is remains red. Aimee says " why is the sky is blue? there is no difference between you and me " . We all living under the same sky, there is no difference between the two of us.

Apart from that, I like how the story progress. tactical, political, emotional, betrayal, forgiveness etc. Best show for 2014.

try gundams, most of them have similar concepts too

Pretty much best anime of 2014.
I follow most Gundam and Mecha series for the past few years and I've been waiting for an anime like this.
GBF was fun and Knights of Sidonia was meh.
Valrave, Buddy Complex, Captain earth are about the same level as Age.

Likeable MC (I don't care what you say about emotionless MC, it's way better than angst friendship will save the day archetype)

Urobutcher style anyone can die makes things interesting as well. I'm sure an important character will probably die in the next episode. At this point, everyone has some death flag already.

Plot-twist. Some are predictable, some are not. All are pretty well done.

Pacing is very well done. Very little filter scenes and no filter episodes so far. I really dislike some "Mecha Anime staple" Eg : Stranded in an island/cafe with someone from the opposing faction.

Super epic music. As expected of Sawano Hiroyuki. This composer pretty much the reason why hyped anime of the past few seasons are epic (Attack on Titan, Kill La Kill). He's refined his art in "sawano drop" further. When the beat drops, you know shit is about to happen.

Of course, let's not forget the fights.
I'm a sucker for strategic > brute force in mecha fights. And this show delivers ... constantly. They add in a bit of science info to make things interesting as well.

The consistent high animation quality is just topping on the cake

i think inaho will get the tharsis and fight saazbum , since slaine didn't ride it..

goose bump over all the tactical mecha action. definitely something new for me after so many other mecha serious.

Cruchteo suddenly appear inside the castle (hiding inside tharsis pretend to be dead) fight against saazbum for revenge blowing up his castle and being a traitor, inaho still like to pilot orange mech and slaine still like to pilot carrier flying around

Ep11 was a bit of a letdown considering it is the 2nd last episode. Deucalion crashing into the Castle was cliche. And I hope the princess really dies this time!

episode 11 was sort of nice since you can see shit really hits the fan. Saazbaum going all out

but the choices of Inaho on taking on the enemy Landing Castle is quite questionable imo, why airspace drop? wouldnt that gave more chance for enemy to intercept them easier since you know they have waaaayy advanced technology?

and how Inaho's missiles blew up the AA cannons like nothing while during the landing of the Castle at start, the SAMs carrying more srz firepower do shiat (not even a scratch) against it?

this is going into movie tier bullshit imo, where MC always have plot armor in action. this show at start was great since it depicts humans as underdogs so much, and i was expecting MC to be super resourceful like during the fight against Nilokeras and Argyre. but its just a scene to show MC's plot armor :/

enjoyed this show so much but really have to turn off brains for some part so as to keep the show entertaining

bear in mind this is my 2 cent, so its worth nothing to you guys. but its my opinion of the show

my main concern in this anime series.... 1 big castle landing...oni hav 1 kataphrakt which is pilot by the knight....its a war but all i see is oni small skirmishes....mayb i was spoiled by other mecha series
