QUOTE(talexeh @ Feb 19 2014, 09:38 AM) BelowAverage» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I'm kinda confused why Rita has to kill Keiji. After all, it didn't end the loop at loop #159 when Rita back stabbed Keiji.
And with regards to my suggestion of loop #161, Keiji can easily kill himself in loop #160 (the loop where he duked it out with Rita) so that he can do the necessary correction to have Rita moved somewhere else so that she will not become a mimic antenna. Then there will be no need to have the Full Metal b**** killed & there will be 2 extraordinary soldier in the world; though it comes with the price that Keiji will lose the opportunity to interact & personally know Rita. What do you think? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « oh man, give you salute i didnt read that much into it, I only understood that base on rita theory, only 1 person can survive, so dun think moving her will make a difference. Well, i think the author wanted a tragic ending, as the theories mention inside there was also base on assumptions by both of them, so they also dono the proper detail of the loops. a cop out maybe, unless the alien race explained the loop then we can understand it better and rita dun nd to die

QUOTE(talexeh @ Feb 21 2014, 05:02 AM) To be honest, I really do agree that the author took the easiest short cut out since it's definitely too easy for Rita to » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « be able to come to the conclusion that only 1 of them can come out alive even though it's her first time meeting another person who got stuck in the loop. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « yea, it was a cop out ending, since all the thoeries are base on their own assumption of the loops, and they didnt try to find a solution but instead choose to kill each other. They should try spend another 500 loop finding each way to end the loop and survive it. Well, the author wants a shakespears endin . The trailer pretty much spoiled me before i read the part where Rita is a looper too, the tom cuirse trailer and ididnt understand a part, when rita ask him "how many loops are you in now?" the first time when she saw him fightin. did she guess it when she saw him fight, or he told her first?

QUOTE(talexeh @ Feb 21 2014, 03:20 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « That was loop #157 IINM; might need to reread hahaha... but yeah, I initially suspect that Rita came to the awareness that Keiji got stuck too since he was way too good with the battle axe. No jacket in the world came armed with a battle axe since it's almost impossible for its jockey to train with one effectively without getting himself / herself killed. I guess you're right in the sense that the author decided not to explore any further possibility & end the entire novel with such a cliffhanger. To be honest, I'm very glad to have someone else to discuss the novel plot since most of the people out there rather wait for the movie adaptation. haha, me too. the manga is going quite fast too, might end in like 20 chapters or something

QUOTE(talexeh @ Feb 26 2014, 10:58 AM) BelowAverage, I'm rereading the novel & somehow I think either the translator or the author mixed up the event in some of the loops. If you can get to the part where Keiji was fighting against a soldier from the 4th company, you'll read this line: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « ... Rachel was peeling potatoes, tossing each spiral skin into an oversized basket that matched the scale of the pot. These were the same potatoes that had come raining down on my head my fourth time through the loop. Keiji actually crashed against the potato cart in his 3rd loop, not his 4th. The 4th loop was when he » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « killed himself by firing Yonabaru's gun into his own throad. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « translation error or editting error only la. Anyway, refering my last post saying how she first found out he was a looper , the manga shown cause he was aiming the antenna mimic, which make her realize. Manga have more details now!

QUOTE(talexeh @ Feb 27 2014, 08:50 AM) Hmm... could be a few factors in fact. One of them like what you mentioned but in my opinion, that mimic is most probably a » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « server-mimic instead of antenna-mimic. However with that being said, I'm not entirely sure myself if an antenna is just an antenna that poke out of a mimic's body or it's a type of mimic itself. Same goes to the backup / backup-mimic as well. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The other possibility would be the fact that Keiji is holding an axe & it could be somewhere in the helicopter (Chief Breeder) that informed Rita that someone is clearing up mimics the Full-Metal-b****-style. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « yea, i think both shyt, the fact he holding a big axe aimming at the server/antenna/backup mimic, caught rita attention. kinda wish the novel had more illustration, like those sword art online light novel
