My developer provide 7 aircond points (wiring, sink pipe, copper piping). I cant afford to put airconds to all the points. But I cant bear to let the points exposed just like that.. too ugly. So I am thinking of putting dummy aircond so it looks nice..

go to air-con repair / electrical shop - they have old one that cant be repair.

I'm looking for dummy covers for ceiling wires meant for lights and ceiling fan as well.....haha

The aircond that cant be repaired means can be antique edi i think. Too old until no more parts . So no point getting as the purpose is to make the house look nicer .

just ask ur contractor on options to hide / cover that up, normally they can trim it and patch it up.

go check those old houses with AC

no, u just trim the part exposed, if u wanna do air con later, just need to reconnect.

after contractor cut too short.. aircond installer cannot connect... susah.. hack whole wall to put new piping again...

better ask aircond installer to do the trimming.. not any tom d*** and harry contractor

It may not a good idea.
As it may cause hassle to connect if it is too short.
There is reason, why extra length left at there for most conceal piping.

A simple boxy wooden or plastic decorative item of cover may do the job easily, depended on one creativity then, instead need a dummy air-cond.
I only hear people install dummy cctv, never hear people install dummy air-cond.

last resort will try to work on the simple box covering. but will look weird for boxes to be hanging around the walls. need to be creative. but my pursue for dummy aircond will still continue....

I have seen dummy cctv, dummy alarm siren, dummy wooden beams. Dummy aircond seems doesn't exist yet.

any place sell blower casing?

Why not put a painting to cover it up?

instead of dummy aircond, why not put some pretty deco?

like can hang a bird cage or lantern?

Get a used Ac la.

Make sure the outdoor copper pipes and copper cables are properly seal, inside and outside. If water go into the copper pipe, it can drip out through the indoor pipe.

Look for other ways to conceal it. Fake airconds is by far a lousy idea in my opinion.

any other opinion? been thinking about it too. used aircond most likely bit yellowish.doesnt look nice

I got two option now:
i) some one from this forum suggest to repaint the blower. Will do mine soon.
or
ii) yesterday I called aircond installer, he also provide used aircond. According to him, the expensive part is the compressor. Blower is about rm200 for a brand new.

My 2 cents advice. I been into such situation before, after renovation i got 6 conceal a/c piping but cash really limited. Finally I decide to buy 1 Panasonic inverter for my master bedroom, one York 2HP for my living room, and remaining i take a chance to try Sharp non inverter because is the cheapest with some "brand" name on it. Buying sharp save me almost 1k.

If cash really limited, just leave the pipes expose for maybe 1 to 2 years, i don't think is really ugly, just a matter of getting used to. Putting dummy or deco may cost few hundred buck and eventually you going to remove it when you have budget for a real a/c.

What I did was, I cut all the piping, patch the wall flat. Then, later when I needed additional aircond, I just install the indoor units on the wall I wish, the outdoor unit I can place it to where I wanted. The installation charges inclusive of drilling holes anyway, just paid extra for piping and patching, more flexibility for me.

Not a good method, after you cut the copper, it maybe too short and hard to solder back. The pipe need to have some gab to rejoin.

he mean re-do entirely. repiping as well. this method only reasonable if later installation is back to back basis.

Then design an elephant type of clock/paint, the 6inch long may be painted as elephant nose...

Depended on craftmanship, it can be nice looking and creative as well.

I think make a small wall hang cabinet would not be a bad idea though, something like this..



1 small cabinet on each side might be akward, so maybe make up some arragement pattern out of it
